St Mary’s College Carnival is just weeks away. There will again be lots on offer including Carnival Rides, the Spinning Wheel, Food Stalls, Children’s Games, Trash ‘n’ Treasure, St Mary’s Idol and much more. O-­‐Plane. This year, we will once again be selling wristbands that will allow unlimited rides throughout day. the The cost of each wristband is $30 pre-­‐paid or $35 on the day. Wristband orders will soon be taken at the office, and wristbands will be handed out on the day. (We have been advised that if prepaid wristbands are collected on the day then students won’t misplace or lose them). WOOD CHOP

St Mary’s Idol will be a search for the College’s top talent, with entry open to students in Years 5-­‐10. The competition will be for individual performers only, and can include singing, playing an instrument, dancing, stand-­‐up comedy, etc. Auditions will be held during class time in the fortnight leading up to the Carnival. Audition times/dates will be published in The Marian. Carnival-­‐goers can watch the final six perform during the final round of the competition at the Carnival, at which time three guest judges – community members with entertainment backgrounds – will award prizes to the top performers. ENTRY FORMS ARE NOW AVAILABLE FROM THE COLLEGE OFFICE The next stage of our Carnival preparations requires each classroom to contribute to a ‘basket of goodies’. Just prior to the Carnival all of these items will be gathered together and made up in hampers for the Spinning Wheel.
