We are looking for more STARS!!
You, the residents, are the stars of our show. Please help us continue our tradition of
having the VERY BEST residents by referring your friends to our community.
If your friend meets our criteria and moves in by 11/1/15 you will receive $400 rent credit.
Guidelines:
*your friend must inform us on 1st visit that you referred them
*your friend cannot currently be under lease at a property managed by Resident Services
*friend must submit application & deposit & meet all of the criteria
*once approved must sign a 12 month lease & occupy the apartment as agreed
*not applicable on sublets or renewal leases
*rent credit to be applied after your friend moves in
Pumpkin Carving Contest
We're changing it up a bit this year...we thought it
would be fun to make it a social event...so come on
down with pumpkin & tools in hand on Tuesday
Oct. 27th between 6-8pm. Have fun with your
friends and neighbors creating your masterpiece.
Pumpkins will then be put on display until Friday
October 30th, vote for your favorite pumpkin.
Prizes will be awarded;
1st place $75
2nd place $50
3rd place $25
We'll have beverages & snacks on hand.
Fun Fact: The largest pumpkin ever grown weighed 1,140 pounds!

Spicy Pumpkin & Shrimp Soup
Makes: 4 servings
Ingredients:
2 medium onions, sliced
2 medium carrots, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon snipped fresh cilantro
2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
2 tablespoons margarine or butter
1 14 1/2 - ounce can chicken broth
1 15 - ounce can pumpkin
1 cup milk
1 8 - ounce package frozen, peeled & deveined cooked shrimp, thawed
Fresh shrimp in shells, peeled, deveined, and cooked (optional)
Plain low-fat yogurt or dairy sour cream (optional)
Snipped fresh chives (optional)
Directions:
In a covered large saucepan cook the onions, carrots, cilantro, ginger, garlic, & allspice in hot margarine for 10 to 12 minutes or
until the vegetables are tender, stirring once or twice. Transfer the mixture to a blender container or food processor bowl. Add 1/2
cup of the chicken broth. Cover and blend or process until nearly smooth. In the same saucepan combine pumpkin, milk, and
remaining broth. Stir in the blended vegetable mixture and the 8 ounces shrimp; heat through. If desired, on small skewers thread
additional cooked shrimp. Ladle soup into soup bowls. If desired top each serving with a spoonful of yogurt, a sprinkling of chives,
and a shrimp skewer.
