Summer Camps on The Bluff!
Robotics and Sensors Summer Camp
About the Program
Robotics and Sensors Academic Program was established in the Computer Science Department,
Southern University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana Campus with the expectation of attracting students to
content domains such as mechanics, electrical circuits, and applied mathematical reasoning that all
too often are stumbling blocks for high school and middle school students.
Robotics engages students in complex, strategic problem-solving and higher-order thinking with a set
of skills that is a high priority for 21st century education. What is more, this kind of problem-solving
can be introduced in a gradual, self-motivated way, so middle and high school students can
experience satisfying achievements right away and can quickly move on to new challenges in a
continuous progression toward greater levels of sophistication.
The summer program will take place on the Southern University Campus in the department of
Computer Science in T.T. Allain Hall. Dates for the program will take place beginning June 5 through
June 30, 2017, a four week, Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., consisting of students from the
Baton Rouge and surrounding areas.

Application Deadline: March 31, 2017
Session: Summer 2017
Pathways to the C-Suite Internship Program
PROGRAM DATES: May 28, 2017 – Aug 4, 2017
Building on the nearly thirty (30) years of success CBCF has in
recruiting, identifying and placing some of the best and the brightest in the
black community for these programs on Capitol Hill; and in response to a
number of our donor and supporters’ requests, we are expanding our
internship program to include placements in the private sector. This will
ensure our future leaders have an opportunity to experience how public
policy is influenced and developed at every level of the process.
Recognizing that public policy is ultimately shaped by a variety of
stakeholder perspectives to include individuals, the private sector, and the
media, the purpose of the CBCF private sector internship program is to
leverage our ability to engage more undergraduate and post-graduate
African-American students in opportunities to experience public policy
development and stakeholder engagement and influence beyond Capitol
Hill.
Housing and a stipend are provided. Applicants must have a
minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale; should be at least 21 years of age at the

graduated no more than a year from the internship program start date.
