Sequoyah JROTC Eagle Battalion is planning on having a special year for 2013-2014. How well we do depends on the effort put forth by everyone in Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie Companies and the coordination of the Cadet Staff. As the Cadet Battalion Commander, I would like to put out THREE challenges to everyone in the Eagle Battalion. First, let’s set the highest standards on wearing the new blue dress uniforms. They have a snappy look, but only if they are kept clean, worn completely, and with the upmost respect. SECOND, we need everyone’s participation October 19– Ringgold High School From the Cadet Battalion Commander and energy in our fundraisers. The fundraisers provide for most of the extra activities where we represent Sequoyah High School. We did great in the two carwashes at Advance Auto Parts in Soddy-Daisy in August, and we have a World’s Finest Chocolate fundraiser going on this semester. Everyone can help! Third, I challenge each Cadet to participate in at least one extra-curricular Team this year. We have Raiders season in First Semester. Drill Team, Color Guard, JROTC Leadership and Academic Board Teams, and Rifle Team competition seasons all start in First Semester and continue past the Christmas break into Second Semester. There is something for everyone to (cont) join and the learning, experience, and competition will only make you a better Cadet, student, and citizen. My supporting staff and I want Cadets to be involved. Let us know your ideas on how Sequoyah JROTC Eagle Battalion can support our school and community! -Cadet/ LTC Luis Hernandez Eagle Battalion Commander Page 2 Newsletter Title From the Command Sergeant Major To new Cadets this year, welcome to the Eagle Battalion.
