It’s April already and we’ve had over 470 animals come into the Centre so far this year! Kitten season has hit
extremely hard with no signs of it slowing down. If you can help, we would love some tinned kitten food or donations
towards the purchase of specialised neonatal milk powder, feeding bottles and other essential equipment. We also
rely heavily on foster care, if you would like to know more about fostering please contact us.
PUPPIES
We have LOTS of puppies available for adoption at the moment,
come on out and meet them!
Murphy is a gorgeous female American Bull Dog x , Freddie is a
super cute male cross breed, Fleur is a really sweet 11month old
female cross breed—check out those ears! Kourtney & Kim are full
of energy female Staffy X and King & Queenie are 8 week old
border collie X pups.

2017 CALENDAR
Thank you to everyone that entered the calendar competition, to the businesses that sold them on our behalf (Bell
Block Vet Clinic, Vets 4 Pets, St Aubyn Vet, NP Vet Group,
Hounds Hangout, Energy Vets Waitara & Inglewood, The
Groom Room, Mitre 10 Mega and Taranaki Vet Centre
Stratford) and everyone that purchased a calendar. This is
a great fundraiser for the Centre and we raised almost
$4,000!
Wow what an awesome day! The weather was perfect, 17
animals found their forever homes and we raised a HUGE
$6,400 for the animals. Thank you to everyone that came
along and supported us!
POOCHES POOL PARTY
Yay it’s happening again! Last years Pooches Pool Party was so much fun and we are so grateful to the
wonderful team at the Todd Energy Aquatic Centre.
This year it will be held Saturday 6th May. So grab your pooch, a lead, poo bags and a towel and head
down to the Todd Energy Aquatic Centre 1pm till 3pm
Kids After-School Programme
SPCA Weekly Saturday Market
The kids have had a fabulous time and learning lots about
animal care.
Our market is held every Saturday from 8:30am till 12.30pm
in the ‘old Mill’ car park. Great selection of fresh fruit and
vegies, bric-a-brac, arts and craft.
Next class starts 3rd May. We only have 3 spaces left so
call now to register your year 7, 8 & 9 student.

Bear
Cutie little ‘Bear’ was found in a container of apparel delivered from
Auckland to The Warehouse in Bell Block. One of the lovely ladies at
The Warehouse brought Bear into us, we were not sure he was going
to make it. Luckily with some extra special care and love from his
wonderful foster parent Ellie, Bear is absolutely thriving now. He will
be available for adoption soon!
Fostering and Volunteering
We always need hard working animal lovers who want to help by volunteering at the shelter. We are also needing more
foster parents for animals, and dog walkers keep our dogs well exercised and socialised while they are in our care.
