Zero Distance is an extension of CTIConnect PRO which allows you to make audio, video
calls, share your desktop with single users, and organize text, audio and video conferences.

Requirements
• Zero Distance license
• Browser: Chrome 17.0 or higher OR Safari
• Java 1.6
• Min. WMS version: MU8
Activation
• Access CTIconnect PRO → Settings → Extensions → “Launch” Zero Distance extension
• When the icon “W” appears on the panel, the of Zero Distance client is installed and you
can receive calls via Zero Distance:
Click on the icon “W” with the left button and select “Options”:
Note: “Status: Online” means a correct
behavior.
Check the Status to know if there are
problems with Zero Distance client
registration

• In order to be able to make calls via Zero Distance client:
Go to Settings → Options → Call generation from CTI → enable “Use Zero Distance to
generate calls”
Audio and Video calls via Zero Distance
Answer a call
Click on the green button to answer an incoming call:
Make a call
Go to Colleagues menu → select a contact → click with the right
button → select “Call”:
You can make calls via Zero Distance client from other CTIconnect menus (after you have
launched Zero Distance, all the calls from CTIconnect are generated via Zero Distance
client):
• Messaging: click on “Call”

• History: select a contact and click on “Call” or “Call mobile”:
• Phonebook: select a contact and click on the number:
• Search field: type in the number and click on the icon
Manage a call
Manage the call directly from the Call window:
- turn on/turn off the microphone; keep the button
pressed for several seconds to adjust the microphone
volume
- adjust the volume
- put a call on hold
- view Dial Pad
- make a blind transfer
- start/stop your video streaming
- show/hide your video
- start desktop sharing
- hang up

Start only video streaming
• Go to Colleagues menu → select a user → click with the right button → select “Video Call”
IMPORTANT: “Video Call” function does not start audio. It starts only video streaming.
To make an audio call with video: make an audio call and then start video streaming from
the Audio Call window
• You can start video streaming directly from the Messaging tab:

Create a conference
• Go to Messaging menu and press
• Enter the title
• Add participants
• Click on “Create”

Manage a conference
Only the moderator (the person who has created the conference) can manage the conference:
add and expel participants, start audio and video, finish the conference, take away the right
to speak or give it.
The following options are available during a conference only for the conference moderator:
• Change a conference title: click on the pencil icon near the actual title
• Add participants during a conference: click on
• Expel users from a conference: click on the icon
near the status icon of a participant
Participants of a Conference are shown in the left window with status icons during a
conference:
•
- shows the status of participation in the conference
•
- shows the status of participation in the video conference
•
- shows the status of participation in the audio conference

The conference moderator can click on the users’ status icons to control the participation in
an audio and video conference.

After the participants join the conference, chat starts automatically:

Limitations
The number of users who have the right to speak at the same time depends on the PBX model
WGW08-16-40: 4 users
WGW90-250-50-1000-5000: 6 users
• Users who do not have the right to speak, can ask for it any time
• The conference moderator (the person who has created the conference) can take away the
right to speak from one participant and give it to another one any time during a conference

• Participants (including the moderator): accept an invitation to participate in an audio
conference

Participation in an audio conference
As soon as you accept an invitation, a window of an audio conference opens:

button pressed for several seconds to adjust the microphone
volume

A status icon of users’ participation in an audio conference is shown near the name of every
participant:
•
- the user is not participating in an audio conference; click on the icon to connect a
user (only the moderator)
•
- the user participates in the audio conference; click on the icon to take away the right
to speak (only the moderator)
•
(FLASHING) - the user is asking for the right to speak; click on the icon to give the right
to speak (only the moderator)
•
- the user participates in the audio conference, but does not have the right to speak;
click on the icon to give the right to speak (only the moderator)
•
- the user participates in the audio conference, has the right to speak, but the call is on
hold
•
- the user participates in the audio conference, does not have the right to speak, and
the call is on hold
A participant who does not have the right to speak can click on the button
for the right to speak

Video streaming
• The moderator: click on the button
• Participants: accept an invitation to participate in a video conference:
The moderator can start video streaming any time during a conference. Other participants
can see the moderator. The moderator can choose whether to show his video or share his
desktop.
As soon as the participants accept an invitation, the window of the video streaming opens:
