PWB Atlanta - Scholarship Program
OVERVIEW
• Minimum 2 Awards in 2 Categories
• Up to $ 500 each, subject to availability of funds
• Seed funds from 2013 Awards
• Ongoing scholarship fundraisers by PWB
• Email applications to PWB membership prior to April 15th
• Submissions due April 15th each year
• Scholarship awarded and announced at the Third Quarter PWB Meeting
• The scholarship award may be used to pay for books or tuition expenses
• Applications are to be received by Monica Saunders, Member Services Director,
Greater Atlanta HBA, P.O. Box 450749 Atlanta, GA 31145 on or before deadline
SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA
Category A - College Students or Entering College Freshmen (children)
• Applicant must be registered as a full-time student in good standing (a GPA of 2.5 for all courses) this
upcoming fall with one full academic year of course work after the scholarship is received at a two or four
year college, university or vocational program or be a senior in high school enrolled in a college, university
or vocational program following graduation
• Essay — 500 words or less as to how the scholarship monies will be used
• Preference given to Building Industry related professions
• Consideration will be given to financial need, career goals, academic achievement, employment history,
extra curricular activities and letters of recommendation
Category B - PWB Member for continuing education or towards graduate or undergraduate programs in
specific curriculums
• Essay — 500 words or less as to how the scholarship monies will be used
• Preference given to Building Industry related professions
• Consideration will be given to financial need, career goals, academic achievement, employment history,
extra curricular activities and letters of recommendation
HOW SELECTIONS WILL BE DETERMINED
• Through a board selected Scholarship Committee of at least 4 PWB member chaired by the PWB Parliamentarian
• Based on thoroughness of application request, relationship of intended use of monies as it relates to our industry
and consideration given to other funding sources available to applicant

AWARD DISTRIBUTION
• Contact recipient, Press Release, newsletter, etc.
• Awarded at the June PWB Meeting
• Can be awarded after announcement. For the students that may be traveling to out of state schools,
scholarship will be presented to a family representative.
