Prayer Quilters
We are ALL blessed to be a blessing
through this ministry as we tie prayers into quilts, and
as we request a quilt, a prayer square, or a military
prayer pocket for a friend of loved one.
Our next meeting will be Saturday,
October 22 - from 10:00 TO 2:00
All are invited to help - no experience necessary
The fall Cursillo Coed Weekend provides the opportunity to
accomplish your goals.

At Camp Stevens near Julian.
The weekend provides time and guidance for spiritual renewal
and an opportunity to renew one's baptismal vows.
See Pastor Sieber or Ingrid Denton
for details about this wonderful opportunity.
There is no cost to participates.
" Worrying does not empty tomorrow of its trouble
It empties today of its strength."
All of us need to be aware that
we can exert a positive influence on those around us.
St.Mark's youth group aka. EPICENTER.
We are located at 580 Hilltop, Chula Vista, CA, 91910
near Hilltop High School.
We meet Tuesdays for Junior High (6th-8th grade) youth
group from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm and same time on
Thursdays for High School (9th-12th grade) youth group.
Our nights are focused on building our relationships with
each other, having fun during intense games, eating,
worshipping the LORD our Savior Jesus Christ and then
spending time learning from His Word (the Bible).
Please join us at any time!
We are planning many activities that will be updated on
our web page, such as 6 Flags trips, bonfires, retreats,
concerts, and everything else we do...We are very busy
going all over
Right now we are collecting old jewelry. You will find a
plastic sandwich bag for that purpose in the narthex.

Honey is the only food that does not spoil.
Honey found in the tombs of Egyptian pharaohs
has been tasted by archaeologists and found edible.
Months that begin on a Sunday will always have
a "Friday the 13th."
There were these two boys who lived with their Grandma.
They were about to go to bed but before they slept they
prayed. The older son started to pray. He prayed about the
day he had and about everything he had done. The younger
son then started to pray, he prayed much louder than his elder
brother, he prayed for bikes and toys, and when he finished
the older brother asked him "Why are you praying so loud?
God is not deaf' and the younger son responded and said "
Yea but Grandma is"
Please contact Pastor Ron directly if you anticipate an
upcoming hospital stay.

Thursday Quilters make quilts for Lutheran World Relief.
We need your help as the cost of batting is high. If you have clean
used blankets, flannel sheets, mattress pad or soft bedspreads, any
size, we can use them.
Place items by the bookcase in the narthex or drop them off at the
quilter room on I st. any Thursday between 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

Leif Erikson Day
In 1964, a joint resolution of Congress declared
October 9th as Leif Erikson Day.
Note: This gives recognition to the first European to set foot on
North American soil. He was the son of Eric Thorvaldson ("Eric the
Red"), a Norwegian. He adhered unquestioningly to the directive
of the king that he spread Christianity to Greenland.
