Weekday Members may play Mondays to Fridays and may enter any weekday competition for which they are eligible and the two designated weekend social competitions, i.e., Captain’s Charity Day & The Grand Draw competitions providing they hold a Congu or Club handicap. Intermediate Members (18 years or over on 1st April, but under 35 years on 1st April) may play any day of the week and at weekends and may enter any competition for which they are eligible. Full Time Education Members may play any day of the week and at weekends and may enter any competition for which they are eligible. Executive Members may play any day of the week except Saturday mornings. Gentlemen may only enter the monthly weekend Stableford and participate in SOGO and the two designated weekend social competitions, i.e., Captain’s Charity Day & The Grand Draw competitions providing they hold a Congu or Club handicap. Ladies may only enter the monthly weekend Medal and participate in SOGO and the two designated weekend social competitions, i.e., Captain’s Charity Day & The Grand Draw competitions providing they hold a Congu or Club handicap. Associate Members may play any day of the week except Saturday but may not play in any club competitions except SOGO and the two designated weekend social competitions. i.e. Captain’s Charity Day & The Grand Draw competitions providing they hold a Congu or Club handicap. Introductory Members may play any day of the week except Saturday but may not play in any club competitions except SOGO and the two designated weekend social competitions, i.e., Captain’s Charity Day & The Grand Draw competitions providing they hold a Congu or Club handicap. This category is only available for new members and is for one term only after which they must move up a category providing there are vacancies. Juniors under 12 (under 12 years of age on 1st April) and Juniors under 18 (12 years or over on 1st April but under 18 years on 1st April) may play any day of the week and may enter any Junior competitions for which they are eligible. Juniors with a sufficiently low handicap may also enter some adult competitions. Juniors under 12 years of age must be accompanied on the course by a responsible, playing adult. Where a group of Juniors wish to play and, for example, one of them is under 12 but the others are over 12, then this may be allowed but only with specific permission from the Professional, a Junior Co-ordinator or a Committee member. Country Members must have a “home” address which is at least 50 miles from the club. The level of subscription is based on the number of times the individual will play at the club. Country members may not play at weekends unless a particular competition is open to all members, e.g., the two designated weekend social competitions, i.e., Captain’s Charity Day & The Grand Draw competitions and they hold a CONGU or Club Handicap. Off Peak Members may play Mondays to Fridays before 7.30am and after 6.40pm, Saturday and Sunday after 4pm. Rights and Privileges of Membership (i) Able to vote at General Meetings: all adult members over 18 years of age except Country Members. (ii) Able to hold office and be a Director of the Club: all adult members over 18 years of age except Country Members. 3|Page Dress Code Members and visitors using the facilities at Bracken Ghyll are required to conform to the following dress code: In the Clubhouse Smart, clean, casual dress is required. This includes sandals, trainers and tailored jeans which are smart in appearance and without any tears or patches. On the Golf Course Recognised & conventional golf wear. Golf shoes NOT trainers. Tailored shorts Skirts/Shorts/Trousers (ladies). Collared shirts such as polo, turtle and roll neck shirts and collared T-shirts specifically made for golf. Sleeveless tops with collar (ladies) Not Acceptable in the Clubhouse or on the Golf Course Track & shell suits, beach or sports/gym wear, replica kits. Bermuda, combat and cargo style trousers or shorts. Caps or any kind of headwear in the clubhouse. Collarless T-shirts or sweatshirts with large logos or slogans Juniors Junior members up to 12 years of age are not subject to this dress code but are expected to be of smart appearance.
