1. What previous experience have you had in the area in which you are applying for?
I was involved as a Treasurer in the Italian club and I was part of the Journalism staff in community college before transferring to CSULA.
2. State briefly why are you are applying and/or are interested in this position
One of the reasons I am applying for this position is because I wish to motivate students from the Arts and Letters to be more involved in ASI and school
related activities.
3. What do you feel are some of the major problems facing the students of CSULA?
That students from the College of Arts and Letters are not getting involve in more school related activities when they can learn so much from involving in
school, and that experience can bring them the necessary tools to improve in their future careers.

I was involved with the Lobby Corps on campus to fight the Tuition increase.

1. What previous experience have you had in the area in which you are applying for?
I was student president of the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented for three consecutive years and I was part of a committee designated for creating a new
high school for young entrepreneurs.
2. State briefly why are you are applying and/or are interested in this position
I'm deeply interested in law and the judicial branch of the US, and any form of me realizing my desire to help others in a judicial capacity and improving my
experience will help me achieve my purpose as a student and member of my community.
3. What do you feel are some of the major problems facing the students of CSULA?
I feel that while this institution certainly has a history of high academic proficiency, many students face at one point or another difficulty in their studies which
can lead to a downward spiral. This is a result of not seeking help, something that plagues many students in many different schools. As someone who
attends CSULA, I am able to see this in my classmates at times.
4. List activities and/or organizations that you have been involved with (on or off campus)
I have been involved with Early Entrance Program, volunteering for the homeless and homeless veterans, including Thanksgiving Day soup kitchens, Johns
Hopkins Center for Talented Youth, and off campus national swim teams including Rose Bowl and ZAP.

1. What previous experience have you had in the area in which you are applying for?
I do not have any experience as a commissioner but I am a citizen deeply concerned for the well being of our environment. My experience is rooted in
activism and being a member of different non profits working towards the protection of our environment, such as the NPCA. I actively contact our senators
and members of congress and urge them to carry through petitions and policies which must be passed in order to protect our environment.
2. State briefly why are you are applying and/or are interested in this position
I am applying for this position because I think every student on campus should be aware of the serious environmental issues we are facing as a nation
today. I also believe making CSULA a campus in which it is known for its various actions on environmental protection is important for the well being of the
future of our community.
3. What do you feel are some of the major problems facing the students of CSULA?
Some of the major problems facing the students of CSULA is the lack of knowledge on important environmental issues. Many students are not aware of how
catastrophic some of the issues are. I think being aware of environmental issues and taking action towards sustainability is something every student can and
should be a part of.

1. What previous experience have you had in the area in which you are applying for?
The experience I have previously had was at my local public library. I used to do community service/volunteer at the El Sereno Public Library as part of my
graduation requirement for my high school. I know how to work in a library and have the experience or what is required to do. I love woking in a quiet
environment and know how to focus and concentrate. I really learned a lot from being involve at this place because not only was I gaining knowledge from
reading and checking out books I was also getting experience I could use later on.
2. State briefly why are you are applying and/or are interested in this position
As I finished my first semester at CSULA, being a first time freshman I was not involved in any activities but now entering my second semester I am
interested in ASI because they are well known around the campus and make events to get the students who attend here involved. I am applying because I
would like to be a part of a team where I could gain experience and networking skill to help me later in life whether it could be getting a job, or even putting
activities like these on my resumé.
3. What do you feel are some of the major problems facing the students of CSULA?
What I feel is problematic is involvement. Most students do not get involve at their school and its important to do so, I didn't realize this until now. I was
attempting to apply to a job but since I never held a position I don't really have much to state. I would really like to be involved in ASI. Its my goal to be a part
of it. If it can be this position then I would greatly like if you could consider me for any other.
4. List activities and/or organizations that you have been involved with (on or off campus)
So far I have a group of friends that I will be getting involved in basketball, to be exactly intramural basketball at CSULA. This is a start right? Well yes, I
have submitted an application for AHA in honors college and am currently looking to also join Hermanos Unidos to have a brotherhood and help each other
with school work. As you could tell I am really trying to get involve doing something productive and clearly showing dedication and commitment.

I was part of the Student Equity committee during the 2015-2016 academic year. I also have an interest in committees to participate as a student voice
representing my fellow student companions in discussions there will be during the Board of Directors meetings.

I have a strong interest in community building which is why academic and social support would be best for me to participate in. I could offer open suggestion

financial security for the current and following academic year, social and cultural development on campus needs to grow, community building by gathering
students and more involvement in programs provided by ASI. students have many questions regarding academia but rarely seek the necessary steps to find
the help they need.

Being a part of A.S.I. I've been given the opportunity to sit on a couple of finance funding meetings, as well as BOD meetings where students send there
funding club proposal.

As a student at CSULA I feel that have benefited from the programs we have funded on campus that have given us the "students" the opportunities to be
involved on campus. Leading us to internships, and jobs on outside our majors.

The lack of interest of involvement, do to being a commuter school. I believe we can better this area, in order for students to find interest to get involved with
our campus committees.

I have a background in biology and engineering, and experience working with plants and animals hands on in classroom, greenhouse, and gardening
environments. I was also a member of Global Aid club in high school which collected recyclables from campus as a source of income that was put toward
various environmental and charity organizations.
2. State briefly why are you are applying and/or are interested in this position
I'm passionate about preserving the natural environment for future generations, and interested in the applications of science in the fields of engineering,
math, and biology to create solutions for a world where humans and nature can thrive in a symbiotic relationship. I also care about the health concerns of
students with sensitivities to air quality, and I believe that a healthy exposure to nature is important to overall well-being.
3. What do you feel are some of the major problems facing the students of CSULA?
The school's aging infrastructure frequently creates issues that create concern. Especially within some of the older buildings, there are a lot of areas that
could easily be improved, such as inefficient and/or broken light and water fixtures. The amount of trash scattered about campus is also a major problem. I
think overall actions should be taken to ensure that CSULA is as environmentally friendly and resource-efficient as possible.

1. What previous experience have you had in the area in which you are applying for?
My major is what has given me the most experience for this position. I am a fourth year, political science major getting close to graduation in the Spring. I
believe that all of the classes I have had in the past have prepared me for this job.
2. State briefly why are you are applying and/or are interested in this position
I am interested in this position because I have always wanted to be apart of ASI since I first entered CSULA. I have never had the opportunity because of
the other clubs I am involved in. I believe this is my last chance to make a difference here at CSULA.
3. What do you feel are some of the major problems facing the students of CSULA?
One of the biggest problems at CSULA, that had been my problem, was a lack of connection between the students and the school. CSULA is getting a lot
better at it now but there is always much more room for improvement. I also believe the way school events are advertised need to be much more improved.
Usually the default way of advertisement are fliers around school that not many people tend to stop and look at. Lastly, one of the major problems is a lack of
school spirt. Students on larger campuses are proud to wear their school letters on their chest. Here at CSULA we do not see that so much. I know we have
just had a brand new makeover but I believe it was not effective as it should have been. We changed too many minor details while ignoring the larger details
that actually had mattered.
4. List activities and/or organizations that you have been involved with (on or off campus)
I was apart of Pre Law Society here on campus but my work schedule never let me be as involved as I wanted to be. My other organization that I have been
apart of is Phi Sigma Kappa, a fraternity here at school where I am currently the president of the chapter. I am also apart of other honor societies such as
Golden Key, Order of Omega Greek honor society, NSLS honor society, and NSCS honor society.
