If you haven't already heard, the elections are kicking off tomorrow at 12pm all across campus.
Candidates will out on the ground speaking to you about what you want from your Union and
how we can make Aberystwyth an amazing place to live and study.

Nominations are now open for the Student Led Teaching Awards! The SLTAs are annual awards
voted for by students, recognising excellent staff and student reps. Do you know someone that
makes Aberystwyth great? Nominate them now!
You have until 13th March to submit your nominations. There's 10 categories to nominate in,
from Personal Tutor of the Year to Department of the Year. Plus, successful nominations bag
an invite to the awards dinner on April 22nd, yay!

Commodore on the 19th we’re going to show off some movies from the same Universe!
Starting with X-Men Origins Wolverine since (Spoiler alert) Deadpool appears in the movie, then
moving onto one of Marvel’s newest releases: Ant Man.
Dr. George McGavin, a British entomologist, author, TV presenter and explorer. Famous for his
expedition work across the Globe for the BBC. He has featurered in such programmes such as
"Lost Land of the Volcano", is a regular contributor to The One Show, and has worked along
side David Attenborough in the past will be doing a talk on the 19th of February at 7pm in
Biology Main 0.26 Edward Llwyd. Free Entry!

Aberystwyth Malaysian Society hosts its flagship event again this year. This is year we will show
you the diversity, cultural and tradition of Malaysia.

The Aberystwyth Poker Society are hosting their first Poker tournament this semester in the
Student Union Main Room on Sunday February 14th at 5:30pm.
The buy in is just £5 with no fees to join the society, and everybody is welcome to come. If
you're new to the game then that's not a problem, it might be helpful to familiarise yourself
with the rules but we're happy to explain things on the day.
