There will be a meeting after the
morning worship service on Sunday,

CentriKids camp June 12-16 @
Campbellsville University in
Campbellsville, KY.
Children who have completed 2nd
grade of the 2016-2017 school year
though 6th grade may attend. A
$50.00 deposit must be paid by
February 28 in order to reserve a
spot. There are 30 slots including
chaperones. See Pamela Rigby for
more information.
Beginning Sunday, January 8, we will start a new sermon study entitled:
“Like No Other.” The study will carry us through the Gospel of Mark.
We find the key passage for our series in Mark 1:22, when Mark tells us,
“they were astonished at His teaching, for He taught them as one having
authority, and not as the scribes.”

Think about it, when Jesus opened His holy mouth, all present were
stopped in their tracks, filled with amazement, and pierced by a sense of
dread to hear the truth proclaimed with such transcendent finality. More
than ever, that is how we should respond every time we hear the Word of
God. We must remember that we are not listening to the word of scribes,
preachers, or theologians, but to the holy word of God.

May our hearts be filled with amazement like those of the gospel of
Mark. May we too find ourselves asking questions among ourselves,
saying, “What is this? What new doctrine is this? For with authority, He
commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him” (Mark 1:27).
May what happened in the Gospel of Mark happen once again, for Mark
tells us, “immediately His fame spread throughout all the region around
Galilee” (Mark 1:28). May Jesus fame be spread throughout our community as our Lord once again stirs our hearts.
