ENCONTROS BIBLI: Electronic Journal of Librarianship and Information Science INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE AUTHORS: 1. “Encontros Bibli: Journal of Librarianship and Information Science” is published by the Department of Information Science and by the Postgraduate Program in Information Science of the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC). It collects novel articles on Librarianship and Information Science based on review of literature or on research and/or experience reports. 2. The manuscripts will be analyzed by three evaluators, at least. 3. According to the evaluation, the manuscripts can be: fully accepted – without restrictions; fully accepted – after some modifications; or rejected. 4. When the necessary modifications refer only to grammar, spelling and normative aspects, the Editorial Board is allowed to make such changes to favor the publication homogeneity. However, the author’s style will be preserved. In other cases, the author will reformulate the text according to the Editorial Board recommendations. 5. All works published in this journal become its property. Reprinted copies, total or partial, should include date and number of the edition in which the works were published. Legally, the original source of the publication should be mentioned. Manuscripts will not be returned to the authors. 6. The manuscripts should be written in Portuguese or Spanish. 7. Articles in Portuguese should be written according to the norm for publication of articles elaborated by the Brazilian Association of Technical Norms (ABNT) – NBR6022, from May 2003. Articles in Spanish should be written according to the equivalent ISO norm. The articles should be submitted via http://www.periodicos.ufsc.br/index.php/eb/about/submissions#onlineSubmissi ons. To do so, it is necessary to access the link “Not registered?” and then fill the form. After that, use the link “Author” and submit your manuscript. It will be done in five steps. At the end of each one, remember to save the procedures. The steps are: 1. Outset; 2. Metadata Inclusion; 3. Manuscript transfer; 4. Aditional Documents Transfer; 5. Confirmation. Remember to not include the name(s) of the author(s). Exceptionally, manuscripts can be sent as attachment, rather in Rich Text Format (RTF), to [email protected]. The subject should read as follows: “Article to Encontros Bibli”. 8. The texts should be typewritten in Word 7.0 (or superior) according to the following configuration: font Times New Roman, 1.5 cm-space between lines, body 12, paper format A4, and 10-20 pages length, without paragraph spacing. They can be typewritten in Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) as well. 9. The first sheet should include: title and authorship, followed by the author’s qualification, institution he/she is affiliated to, and e-mail. 10. In the second sheet, the header should include: title in Portuguese, Spanish, or English, clearly expressing the general idea of the work; the key-words that better represent the text’s content, written in Portuguese, Spanish, or English; a summary in Portuguese, or Spanish, written according to the NBR6028 or equivalent ISO norm, and also an abstract in English. 11. In-text citations should conform to the NBR10520 or equivalent ISO norm. 12. The reference list should be organized according to the NBR6023 or equivalent ISO norm. 13. The contents of the articles published remain the sole and full responsibility of the author(s).
