Part of the Hartford Animal Clinic Club Pike Cabaret Series, Mozart’s The Magic Flute is an endlessly inventive sharing of Mozart’s final comic opera. Die Zauberflöte, also known as The Magic Flute, is one of the best known operas written by Austrian composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart composed in 1791. The opera is a profound yet lighthearted tale of love. Prince Tamino is searching for the girl of his dreams. The mysterious Queen says her daughter’s the one—and just waiting to be rescued from the evil wizard. But it turns out he’s not the evil one! Chicago’s Candid Concert Opera is dedicated to the development of emerging operatic and instrumental talent and focuses on increasing the understanding, appreciation, and availability of opera for the community. They are committed to performance environments that are intimate, up‐close, and personal. Every performance is sung in German with English subtitles to ensure audiences understand the action on stage. The company strives to create a dynamic that cultivates the talent of rising stars.
