Just A Word from the Match
Director
Well folks, another year has slipped away and that
means the IDES 2010 is history. As a lot of
Cowboys are writing in with their take on the shoot,
there has been many a kind words. We all thank you
for coming out and enjoying the shoot and our time
of friendship. The match proved to be challenging
but fun and that word FUN seemed to be repeated
throughout the weekend.
There are so many to thank, but let me start with the
two people that worked day and night and put
endless hours to make it all happen, Sassy Teton
Lady and her sweetie Deadwood Woody and to the
rest of the committee that worked there booties off,
- Thank you. To all the volunteers that helped with
the work and in the side matches and in the shoot
through - Thank You. To those great kids from the
4-H , Good Job and we all Thank You so much. A
Big Thank You to all The ROs for stepping up to
the plate. We Thank and appreciate all the venders
that came out and supported the shoot. To all the
Sponsors -we thank you and hope that it was money
well spent. And last but not least, we want to
Thank the Eustis Gun Club for hosting our event
and all they have done to help promote Cowboy
Action Shooting.
To my friends and fellow committee members, I
was deeply moved and taken by the presenting of
the Top Hand buckle. I have never been more
honored to have worked with a great group of
people like you. That moment still brings a tear to
my eye. Thank You and I will always cherish that
award.
Congratulation to all the class winners and to the
Top Lady - Oakley Mouse and to the overall Match
Winner - Arcadia Outlaw. Good job!!!
March 2010
I know the wheels are already turning for next year
so I hope to see all of you at the IDES 2011.
In the meantime, take care and I will see you on the
Range.

Eustis Gun Club Shotgun Day
Upcoming Events at Lake County Pistoleros.
The shotgunners at the range are having a double
and sub guage day on May 1st. Shooting will start
at 9:00. You will want to get there early to sign up.
This is a sporting clays course using doubles and
subguage shotguns. All targets will be at a
maximum of 25 yards. The cost is only $10 for a
course of 60 birds. What more fun can you have
than with your fellow cowboy shooter trying to hit
clays. I would like to see us dress cowboy so they
will know how much we are supporting them. This
would be good practice and I am sure some of the
shotgunners would give us a few pointers. We have
9 of us committed so far. Who knows, we might be
able to challenge them to shooting cowboy. If you
have any questions, please call or email us.

New Shooter Class and Information
Our 2nd Sunday March class had some new and
prospective shooters show up. Some others were
rather new and wanting some practice. We set up
behind our office on Berm 5. If the participation
continues we might need to increase and take over
another berm.
Our next class will be on April 11th (2nd Sunday)
starting at 9:00 in the town. There will be no
charge for the class. We will work on safety, gun
handling, rules, transitions, spotting, timing,
staging, and just about anything the shooter would
like assistance with.
If you aren’t able to take advantage then at the
beginning of every match, we take new shooters to
an empty berm and run a stage and have a hands
on safety meeting.
During the match, a mentor will be available to help
the shooter through the match. Ultimately, new
shooters will attend our new shooters class the
week before a match and get the jitters out of the
way.
Please encourage your friends that might be
interested in shooting to take part in one of our
classes. This helps make the first shoot more
enjoyable for everyone.

NEW COWBOY CLUB IN
TOWN - TALLAHASSEE
Yee-ha! Cowboy Action Shooting
has arrived at TRPC!!
On a frosty Valentine’s Day morning, 31 shooters
helped celebrate the first match of The Big
Bendbushwhackers at the Tallahassee Rifle & Pistol
Club. The air was filled with smoke, laughter, and
the sound of musical steel. The participants ranged
from first-time cowboy shooters to seasoned
veterans. Our farthest-traveled shooter came over
750 miles!
The theme of our first match was Butch Cassidy
and the Sundance Kid, with 6 stages highlighting
scenes from that classic film. We discovered that
Sundance can’t swim, Butch ain’t a very fast
runner, and everyone learned a little Spanish.
Our four Range Officers, Robert Glady AKA
“Burn’em Up Bob”, Cass Vickers AKA
“Cassalong Hopity”, Ed Buist AKA “Lucius
Leadbottom”, and Bill Hightower AKA “Tuff
Willy”, did a fantastic job of keeping everyone’s
mind on safe gun-handling practices. Everyone
agreed that the match was a huge success, and look
forward to coming back again and again.
If you’ve never seen a cowboy match first-hand, we
invite you to come join us! Spectators are always
welcome. Bring a chair and cooler. Or better yetbring your shootin’ irons and come join in the fun.
Matches are held on the second Sunday of each
month.
Our next match will be held on April 11th.
