What is needed for transporting CLASS 7; RADIOACTIVE MATERIALS in combination transport of Sea/
IMDG and Road/ADR , in a nutshell:
Sea Transport according to IMDG Code:
� UN-number
� Proper Shipping Name (= PSN, Transport Name) according to IMDG goods list
� Danger label number/-s and possible Subrisk danger label/-s,if exist
� Packing category: I-white,II-yellow or III -yellow
� Transport Index (TI)
� Active nuclide and its’ activity
� Activity of whole consignment
� kg’s and type of packages (for example: A-type packing, B-type packing or SCO-I,SCO-II)
Road Transport according to ADR-agreement:
� UN-number
� Proper Shipping Name (= PSN,Transport Name) according to ADR goods list in one local official language of
sending country and in one ADR-language (=English,German or French)
� Danger label number/-s and also Subrisk danger label/-s,if exist
� Packing category: I-white,II-yellow or III -yellow
� Transport Index (TI)
� Active nuclide and its’ activity
� Activity of whole consignment
� kg’s and type of packages (for example: A-type packing, B-type packing or SCO-I,SCO-II)
Pack goods according to instructions,; note specially marking and labelling-requirements !
General for All Methods of Transport:
� Use only good UN-approved packagings
� Mark correct UN-numbers , gross weight etc needed information on packages and use correct transport labels
� Deliver needed transport documents to Schenker Oy in good time-beforehand ! If possible at least about 2
weeks before intended transport
� Dangerous Goods Declaration
� Waybill (domestic and CMR) with classification details with goods
� Copy of shipper’s safety sertificate (=licence),if exists
NOTE:
Not any part of transport can happen until all needed information/ transport documents have
arrived to Schenker !
Concerns also preplanning !
Normally transported class 7 goods are UN2908-UN2911 and all others need special arrangements,
so check beforehand if transport is possible.
Make transport booking in time –class 7 transports are very special transports that require more
time for all handling and preparing !
