LIVE SEGMENTS Brought to you by Navman Cyclo 500 and 505 only: Adding Strava Live Segments • Ride Strava Live Segments with your Cyclo and seamlessly sync your results with Strava via Magellan Cyclo . • Strava Live Segments designate a portion of a route where users can compete for time. These segments are user-created and user-edited and are available for all premium Strava users. • The track segments are used competitively to compare ones results with one’s personal record or against other competitors thus pushing oneself to improve constantly. • An overview of all the participants and their results is maintained on Strava, so one can always look back to his or her own position in the listing. • You can find a detailed user guide at the end of this document. Brought to you by Navman Enable/disable auto recording • Users will be able to enable or disable the auto record option on the device. The auto record option is activated by default. We now added the option to turn this off. This is to prevent the device from recording when this is not wanted. Auto record, when activated, will restart a recording after the device has been inactive for a while, pausing the recording, thus making sure that the user does not accidentally forget to press “record” again. Auto record starts as soon as motion is detected. Brought to you by Navman Adding 2 extra info field dashboard screens • Users with multiple bicycles/profiles now have 2 additional info fields available on the dashboard screen, so they can save the info fields for both bicycles/profiles without having to edit every time they change bicycle. Brought to you by Navman Adding ferries back as a route setting option • On popular demand we added ferry crossings again for route options. The ferry crossings will be optional in the menu. Brought to you by Navman Cyclo 505 only: Update crank set and cassette values for Shimano XTR M9050 Di2 • Added the following: 11-Speed cassette: 11-13-15-17-19-21-24-27-31-35-40 • Crankset: 40-30-22 • Support Shimano Di2 remote control for switching dashboard pages and start/stop recording Brought to you by Navman Cyclo 505 only: Name changing of the trainer name “Elite” to “Elite Qubo Digital”. • To be more specific which device is compatible. Brought to you by Navman STRAVA LIVE SEGMENTS more details Brought to you by Navman What are Strava Live Segments? Strava Live Segments designate a portion of a route where users can compete for time. These segments are user-created and user-edited and are available for all premium Strava users. The track segments are used competitively to compare ones results with one’s personal record or against other competitors thus pushing oneself to improve constantly. An overview of all the participants and their results is maintained on Strava so one can always look back to his or her own position in the table. So from now on this very popular option is available on your Magellan Cyclo™. Brought to you by Navman How to use this feature? 1. Make sure you link your Magellan Cyclo account with Strava (Account > Synchronisation settings > Strava > Link my account). 2. Log in to your (premium) Strava account. 3. Click “Explore” and select “Segment Explore” (in your area) or “Segment Search” (search anywhere). 4. Mark your favorite segment(s) by clicking on the star in front of that segment. 5. Synchronise your device with Magellan Cyclo using the CycloAgent or WIFI sync. 6. The marked segments will shortly be visible on your device 7. Only cycling segments will be synced with your Magellan. 8. It will take a few minutes for Strava to re-calculate and update the rankings after the automatic synchronisation with Magellan Cyclo. To make sure you use the latest Strava ranking stats, it is recommended to re-sync your segments to your Cyclo before every use; this will refresh the rankings and results. Brought to you by Navman Brought to you by Navman Connect your device with your PC and start the CycloAgent. The segments are placed on your device during synchronisation. Disconnect your device from your PC and start it up. Go to Settings > Manage and select Strava Live Segments Click the segments you want to activate and make sure the notifications are turned on for the segments (Settings > Alerts)*. * Segment Alerts Brought to you by Navman Once a segment is activated, you can choose your virtual rival from the following options: • KOM (QOM in case of a female participant); this is the record holder for this segment. • Personal Record (this is your previous record for this particular segment). • Ranking Followee. Brought to you by Navman You now have two options to ride the segments. Option 1 You can simply cycle a random route and record it; as soon as you are within the vicinity of a segment your device will notify you. You can ignore this segment in the pop up window using the “dismiss” button or you can move towards the orange flag (starting point of the segment). The segment itself is displayed in red. Option 2 You can also go to the main menu of your device and click “Navigate”. Then click “Segments” and select the segment you want to ride. Brought to you by Navman Click “GO” and you will be directed to the starting point of the segment. 250 meters before the start of the segment, you will get a pop up window and unit will beep twice. You can dismiss the segment in the pop up window. Brought to you by Navman If you ignore the “dismiss” button by pressing the home key on your device or after waiting a few seconds, the device will return to the map with the orange flag as the starting point of the segment, the segment marked in red, the distance towards the segment and your target time. As you reach the start of the segment you will hear 3 beeps and “GO” will appear on your screen. Brought to you by Navman During the segment, the screen will show the remaining distance and your performance at that moment; ergo how many seconds ahead or behind set target. These data fields are customisable via Settings > Dashboard > Segments Brought to you by Navman As soon as you pass the virtual finish line, your results compared to your virtual opponent will be shown on the screen of your Magellan Cyclo Brought to you by Navman To view your results in Strava you just need to connect your device to your PC and start the CycloAgent. Your data will be synced with Magellan Cyclo and Strava. (Devices with WIFI can be synced using “WIFI Sync”). Important: • Magellan Cyclo must be in sync with Strava. • Segments must be selected as favourite in Strava (Strava Premium only). • Device must be synced with Magellan Cyclo. • Segments must be activated on device (default). • Device must be in recording mode • Alerts for segments need to be activated on device. • You must use a bicycle profile. • A maximum of 60 segments can be synced to device. • If “Popular Local Segment” option is enabled, 10 popular segments in and around your Strava registered home town will be downloaded as well. • Existing Magellan Cyclo users who are already linked to Strava need to enable the Segment options manually. These options will not be auto-enabled. Brought to you by Navman Quick summary 1. Log in to your Premium Strava Account 2. Select one or more segments as a favourite 3.
