InstructionalMaterials:
Alllearningactivities(resources,assignments,assessments)arecontainedwithinorreferencedinthestudent’s
onlinecourse. Theonlinecourseisaccessedvialoginandpasswordassignedbystudent’sschool(webaccount)or
emaileddirectlytostudentuponenrollment,withtheloginwebsite.
Otherresourcesrequired/ResourceCosts:
Thisisanactivityclass,sostudentswillberequiredtobeactiveatleast4dayseachweek*.Itisrequired
thatstudentshaveanduseaPolarFT40heartratemonitorandPolarFlowLinkthatallowsforuploading
heartratedatatothecomputer. Theseinstrumentswillbeusedtoverifyphysicalactivitylevelsin
conjunctionwithactivitylogsandadultverificationasrequested. Studentswillbeabletocheckouta
heartratemonitorthroughtheirschooldistrict. Studentsmayalsoberequiredtopurchaseapersonal
strapforthetransmitterfor$15.Thisamountwillbeaddedtothestudent’sdistrictaccount.More
detailswillbeprovidedoncetheclassbegins. However,theymustagreetoreplacethemonitorsetifitis
lostorbrokenatacostof$200.
*Anexceptionwouldbeifastudenthassubmittedawrittenrequestandhasbeenapprovedfora
districtmedicalwaiver.
CourseDescription:
InLifetimeFitness(Year2),studentswillparticipateinavarietyofactivitiestodemonstrate,apply,and
evaluatecomplexmotorskills,movementconcepts,skill-relatedcomponentsoffitness,safety,and
teamwork,sportsmanshipandfairplay.Studentswilltakealookatandmonitorindividualhealthhabits,
assessfitnessinthecomponentsofhealth-relatedfitnessandskill-relatedfitness,analyzecurrent
personalhealthandfitnessplan,setindividualfitnessgoalsandcreate,engageinandevaluateapersonal
healthandfitnessplanbasedonpersonalgoals,andadjusttheplanandgoalsasdetermined.
