Course: US HISTORY II
Description: This course will cover the social,
political, cultural, and military aspects of United
States history from 1917-present.
Classroom Policies
1. Bring pencil, paper, text, homework, notes
2. Participate in classwork, class discussion
3. Show respect (I am a MR.)
4. Produce quality, comprehensive work often
5. Follow ALL building rules (i.e., GUM, FOOD)
6. Late is AFTER the bell stops ringing
7. Not all inappropriate words have four letters
8. You will LEARN.
9. You will LIKE it.
10. FAILURE is a CHOICE that YOU make.
Make-U p Wo r k Po licies
1. In the event of an absence, missed assignments
may be viewed in the posted gradebook.
2. Missed handouts and assorted readings can be
retrieved from the box marked “Handouts.”
3. Illegal absences and class cuts will result in a
ZERO for a given assignment.
4. Tests/quizzes missed due to legal absences will
be made up the first day returning from absence.
Late Work Policies:
1. Late homework assignments will not be
accepted.
2. Projects and other assignments will be deducted
10% per day up to 3 days.
3. No work will be accepted after 3 days late.

Course Assessment:
1. This course covers approximately 12 units/chapters of
material and will average 1.5 quizzes/tests per unit.
2. The instructor reserves the right to quiz without warning.
3. Projects, papers, and readings will comprise a large
portion of students’ grades.
4. Homework will not constitute more than 18% of a final
grade
5. Formal assessments will generally be comprised of
multiple choice, matching, true/false, identification, short
answer, and essay questions in any combination.
6. Student-generated projects may/may not involve
collegiate level research, group collaboration, and public
presentation.
Classroom Environment
Rules are established and enforced to maintain a place
of equal opportunity in learning.
Violation of classroom and building policies will be viewed
by the instructor as deliberate deprivation of the right of
others to an education.
Should a student diminish the quality of another’s
educational experience, the instructor reserves the
power to exercise discipline as harshly and swiftly as he
sees fit.

Grading Procedures:
1. Tests ARE NOT curved.
2. Grades are posted by Thursday of each
week.
3. Assignments/assessments turned in on
time will be graded within 7 school days.
4. EAHS maintains a NO EXTRA CREDIT
policy.
5. Alternative assignments are available as
per the teacher’s judgment for each unique
situation.
