DANVILLE- A new day care center is
open in Danville providing day care and
pre-school with a Christian focus. The
center can accommodate 12 infants and
toddlers, ages 6 to 23 months and 20
pre-schoolers Monday through Friday,
6:45 am to 5:30 pm.

Services in Danville, had
planned to someday expand her business
into a freestanding day care center but the
closing earlier this year of Two-by-Two
Day Care Center, affiliated with the Second Church of Christ, in Danville caused
her to move up her plans.
“I just hated to think of all those children
with no place to go,” Taylor-Moore said.
So when the announcement was made in
April, she immediately began work on her
expansion. An area commercial Realtor,
Ken Kuchefski, helped her find a building at 802 N. Vermilion St. in Danville
that was purchased and remodeled to suit
her needs by an investor allowing her to
focus her available funding on furnishings, equipment and supplies as well as
working capital. She worked with Second
Church of Christ to purchase some of their
equipment.
The center has contracted with Crosspoint Human Services to provide meals.
Danville Christian Child Care will employ 2 full-time teachers and 7 part-time
employees. Regulations require a higher
teacher to student ratio for infants and toddlers, but Taylor-Moore feels strongly that
the need for services for that age is great
in this area. “Parents can’t work and go to
school if they don’t have quality care for
their children.” The center accepts private
pay and parents registered with Child
Care Resource & Referral to receive state
assistance.
