Himalayan Children’s Fund News
Dear Friends,
As we enter into the last months of 2016 it might be nice to reflect on what
has been accomplished as well as what is left to to achieve.
So far this year, HCF donors have not only renewed nearly 300 sponsorships
of nuns, monks, and SMD students, but you have contributed funds for the
support of Shedra monks in Tibet, enabled construction of tables for the
monks rooms at VVI, continued to support recovery from the 2015
earthquakes, supplied vaccinations for monks and nuns, provided hair
clippers for the young monks in Nepal, and solar power for the monastery in
Lumbini ~ to name but a few accomplishments!
What’s next? We need to complete the playground at SMDBS, fund the
clinics at Namo Buddha, SMD and VVI, find more sponsors for students
improve nutrition and just keep the wheels rolling.
Thank you for your help and enthusiasm.

HCF BROCHURE ~
HELPING THE ENVIRONMENT
Thanks to the terrific people of Art
Works Fine Art Publishing, in Los
Angeles, we have reprinted our HCF
brochure at a very reasonable cost.
The printer they use offers paper
products that are recycled from certified
sustainable production systems, and
contain recovered fibers from postconsumer sources. They also use ecofriendly inks and solvents. By using
vegetable oil-based inks which emit
very low traces of volatile organic
compounds (VOCs), which are the
fumes that evaporate into the air, their
emissions are much lower than
petroleum-based inks and solvents.
We have kept the overall look of the
brochure the same and added new
photos and updated information.
Please help us share it ~ If you would
like some to distribute let us know.
