Little Chute Historical Society 2017 Windmill Quilt Show April 21, 22, 23, 2017 Friday & Saturday 9am-4pm Sunday 11-3 Viewer’s Choice Awards 1st prize- $150 2nd price - $125 3rd prize - $100 4th Prize - $75 5th Prize $50 6th Prize $25 Our Quilt Show is a fundraiser sponsored by the Little Chute Historical Society for our authentic, fully functioning, 1850’s design Dutch Windmill. The Windmill is a non-profit organization run by volunteers. The entry fee for your quilt provides working capital for the windmill and also gives you free entry to the quilt show for the whole weekend ($6.00 value or more if you choose to come everyday) & gives you a tour of the windmill. Contest Rules Open to quilters ages 16 and over. Entries must be pieced by person named on entry form. Quilt may be machine finished or hand finished by someone other than the piecer. Quilts must be in show condition, clean, free from odors, and/or pet hairs. Intake committee reserves the right to reject items that are not appropriate or ready for display. Unfinished items are ineligible. All quilts must have three layers and may be quilted by hand, machine, or both, but not tied. Quilts must be a single unit and not framed with metal, wood, etc. Entries must have a fabric label securely sewn to the backside with quilt title, name, address and telephone number of the entrant. Sewn in sleeves are not necessary as entries will be pinned to hanging cloth panels. Size of quilt is restricted to a maximum perimeter (measurement of all 4 sides added together) of 144 inches. Quilts may be wall hangings, table runners, place mats, etc. Only the first 90 entries will be accepted. There will be one prize category only: Viewer’s Choice. Show attendees will be given a Viewer’s Choice voting ballet with each ticket purchased and will be encouraged to vote for their favorite quilt. As stated above, 1st prize-$150, 2nd prize-$125, 3rd prize-$100, 4th prize-$75, 5th prize $50, 6TH prize $25. Corresponding ribbons will be awarded as well. Each person is allowed to enter a maximum of three (3). No quilt that has previously been entered in the windmill quilt show can be entered. No quilt that has won an award in another quilt show is eligible. Entry form/s must include a self-addressed stamped envelope and $15 entry fee per quilt. Checks should be made out to: Little Chute Historical Society. Sorry no cash or credit cards accepted! Entry form and fee are to be sent to: Vicki Van Deurzen, 1305 Garfield Ave., Little Chute, WI 54140 and must be received by April 12, 2017 An acceptance letter will be mailed back to the entrant along with a ticket for entry to the quilt show and a document to be presented when quilt is picked up after the show. Entries must be hand delivered to the Little Chute Windmill, 130 W. Main St, Little Chute, WI on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 between the hours of 5pm and 6:00pm. Quilts must be picked up immediately after the show at 3:05 sharp on Sunday, April 23, 2017. Filing of your signed application signifies agreement with these conditions. Quilts and/or persons who made them may be photographed and/or videotaped for promotional purposes.
