From the life of a garden gnome or rather of a so-called

From the life of a garden gnome or rather of a so-called “garden camel”. Be that as it may, what
you will be told at this point, unless you decide against hearing more of it, is the tale of an extraordinary
garden-dweller. Well, curious? Then read on. It stands to reason that in each garden belongs a “house“.
And that’s where our story gets exciting. Normally the word “house“ has connotations of “nest-building
designed to last“, “private retirement programmes“ or simply “long-term family planning“. However,
both the modern garden gnomes and the “garden camel” believe in the saying “Always test the ties that
bind”. As everybody knows, tests sometimes prove to be traumatic experiences in one’s life. That’s why
it’s better to think out of the box. Always new instead of forever. Rentability instead of private retirement
programmes and freedom of life instead of family planning. Life is just a game. Exciting. Flexible. Not to
mention multi-tasking, such as our NOMADHOME which can be used for a whole host of applications. In
every respect from Gramatneusiedl (a small village in Austria) to Rome. From a beach cottage on Sylt to
a loft on the roof of a skyscraper in New York. From the private bachelor-pad to the business lounge. But
also from the designer hot-dog stand to the hi-tech stand at an exhibition. Which shows that the life of
a “garden camel” can be absolutely thrilling, diverse and exciting. That’s why our camel (whose pedigree goes back to the days of Ali Baba, is accustomed to a nomadic life and a real globetrotter) is racking
his brains on how to characterize his new habitat in just a few words (for the simple reason that despite
his international character he sometimes suffers from home-sickness, pining for the dunes and therefore likes sending greeting cards and other
messages
to the desert …). Ok, let me think - what
springs to
mind first? What about “Home sweet home
– all on my
back”, “All in a cube”, “Lifestyle – carriage paid”
or “The dynamics of life”. Or with a more
lyrical approach “My living companion” or tougher “Carry Home!” or perhaps more humorously “Portable Life”,
“Your house for all seasons” or in a trendy way “All inclusive”? How come that you are still reading? We
really appreciate that and it’s obvious for us that we are on the right track with our idea of the NOMADHOME. But we don’t want to beat around the bush so to cut a long story short, let’s proceed with the planning of your brand-new multifunctional centre of your life. Final comment of our “garden camel”: “The
New 3mension! NOMADHOME is always one step ahead and keeps moving with you!”
Let’s move from the Austrian “garden camel” to the “grassland kangaroo”, living
down under. It was in New Zealand where Gerold Peham, NOMADHOME pioneer and inventor by profession, stumbled upon the “por table housing project” for the first time. On one of
his long trips through the country he was witness to the fact that a giant truck
was
relocating a detached house. Once he
had got over
the initial shock, he realised that
he would have
to console the kangaroo that had
lost its home.
Then the idea came to him as a flash of genius. For one thing he wanted to give the kangaroo
a new lease on life, for another he wanted to pick up on this idea of a “backpacker home” and
introduce this vision to his home country. But before the story goes on, be assured that for
the kangaroo the story had a happy ending. Right away another mega-truck turned up at the
said plot of land and a new, even larger house was unloaded and put up in the blink of an eye,
including the family that belonged to it and for the kangaroo everything was just fine again.
What are you supposed to say in such a case? “And they all lived happily ever after ”. However,
the exact location is obscure. For Gerold Peham, however, the world had changed completely.
Back in Austria he set out to implement his idea of a “Take away-house”. What followed was
a period of lively day-dreaming and you could often see Gerold Peham, sitting at the shores
of the “Wallersee” (a lake in the vicinity of Salzburg”), a blissful smile on his face. More often
than not he was in the company of said “garden camel” that he had tamed in remembrance
of the kind kangaroo to which he felt he owed a lot.. After a shor t while he built on this very
place his first NOMADHOME. If you don’t mind being bored by dates and facts – although we
won’t test you on this – then you might be interested to know that this milestone in the history of NOMADHOME was reached in the year 2005. The significance of this incident is demonstrated by the fact that the Nomadhome Trading GmbH was founded at the same time.
Well, last but not least, there remains only one question that is of par ticular interest to us:
Which construction year of your NOMADHOME should we enter in our company files?
The New 3mension.
Living is live.
Intelligent well thought-out plans for layout and interior design provide a new liberal ambience in a small space. With practically no partitions 50 m2 feel like 70 m2.
Living space which is transportable and extendable at all times. A home which adapts easily to all circumstances of your life. Whether you reside on the roof of a
skyscraper in New York, on a leasehold property within spitting distance of the Costa Brava or in an allotment garden in Vienna, NOMADHOME means the largest
possible efficient use of space coupled with geographical flexibility. For innovative nomads, young nest-leavers, semi-settled mobile homers, progressive holiday
home owners and campus-like student villagers as well as for spirit of the age dwellers and modern globetrotters.
When it comes to business, NOMADHOME can be used as a coffee lounge, showroom, temporary office, shop, or employee’s apartment.
Interior.
Interface.
Outside World.
The way into the room. A play in three acts. As an overture, ambience & architecture. Then the highlight with
trendy, well thought-out interiors. Finally - technology.
State-of-the-art of course. Simply let it take effect.
Modern times are marked by change. Flexibility takes first place in all areas of life
and settling down in present times often demands a temporary solution. People
evolve into modern nomads whilst at the same time wishing for a sophisticated
living design. Because living doesn’t mean simply occupying, but is rather an expression of an individual philosophy of life. NOMADHOME is the implementation of
this development into a European-wide unique concept of living and working space.
My NOMADHOME
is my castle.
NOMADHOME is the perfect symbiosis between architecture
and delight, freedom and flexibility through the unique
combination of aesthetic and functionality. In short:
It is our answer to the economic and social requirements
of the 21st century.
However, each concept depends on the quality of the details that are behind
it. Because of this we set great store by creating a perfect combination of
state-of-the-art technological standards and a sustainable construction without
wasting precious resources and aims to reach a life span of up to 50 years.
- All materials used are recyclable.
- Energy-saving heating system and air-conditioning using power-saving
technology on the basis of an air-source heat pump
The Nomadhome
is unique.

Selection of materials
and technology
Steel construction
In technological as well structural terms, the steel construction of the NOMADHOME provides the prerequisite
for ensuring decades of stability of form. Thus you can
make the most of the possibilities and advantages of our
unique modular construction.
Inner shell
We have decided on linoleum as a surface material for
the inner shell. It consists of pure natural materials and
features a very good and natural surface condition.
Insulating material
Features the latest generation of insulating material
type RG 35, in order to achieve an optimum insulation
value in spite of using material with minimum thickness
Total insulation fabric 240 mm; k-value 0.16 – 0.18;
Total wall thickness approx. 310 mm.
Wooden framework construction
The decision to use MFB-base boards instead of other
standard materials was based on the fact that these are
free from harmful substances and glue.
Selection of materials
and technology
Heating – Air-conditioning
The NOMADHOME is equipped with a simple air-conditioning system, which is easy to maintain. It is based on an
air-source heat pump, which can be put into operation
immediately without time-consuming preparation. As an
alternative a photovoltaic system can be installed in the
NOMADHOME to provide the necessary electricity.
Façade
Above all, the outside skin serves to enhance the visual
effect. At any time is it feasible to exchange or redesign
individual components by means of the specially developed façade technology. Aluminium components prevent
corrosion and offer the advantage that the surface can
be powder-coated in any requested colour. This technology allows the use of all available standard façade
materials such as wood, asbestos cement, corrugated
aluminium, foils, etc.

Electrical engineering
In the field of electrical engineering we work with an
EIB-BUS system as standard, which currently and also in
the future comprises the latest technical developments.
Furthermore it enables us to adopt all the international
standards and systems.
Roof
The most sensitive part of the entire project is the
sealing of the water-bearing surface. Through our
cooperation with internationally leading manufacturers
in this field, we are now able to offer first-rate materials,
correspondingly good services and can draw on decades
of experience where flat-roofed constructions are
concerned.
Glass surfaces
In order to ensure the break resistance of the large
glass areas and achieve a good insulation k-value 1.1 with
double glazing, we use an 8 and 10 mm ESG-safety glass.
The form-stable aluminium frame construction allows
frequent transport and is capable of being extended.

Nomadhome Business Solutions.
Over the last two years NOMADHOME has established
itself as one of the most innovative projects on the
international market when it comes to constructing,
living and working with an approach to mobility and
the temporary. More and more enthusiasts are embracing the idea of developing an efficient modular
concept with maximum flexibility and thus launching
the serial production of a stylish, first-rate product
which is unique in its complexity. Meanwhile it has developed from the collector’s item to the economical
and cost-effective solution. NOMADHOME stands for
optimum flexibility for companies and can be used in
the b2b-field in a wide variety, e.g. as a lounge, show
room, temporary office, temporary shop or employee´s
apartment. The construction principle of the NOMADHOME is simple yet ingenious and allows repeated assembly and disassembly as well as transport without
running the risk of deformation.
Depending on its size, it takes three days to assemble
and two days to disassemble the NOMADHOME.
Similar to a modular building block system, the
individual modules with a surface area of 11 m2 can be
expanded, exchanged and modified at any time. With
the aid of plug-in systems and the special pipe system
design, the electrical system, domestic engineering,
the heating system and air-conditioning can be adapted in a modular way. Likewise the outer skin, which is
available in many different options, is exchangeable by
means of s simple plug-in system. The easily adaptable façade represents the perfect solution for business
purposes due to the fact that branding and design
can be adapted at any time according to the requirements. Through the application of high-quality materials for insulation and interior finish a very pleasant
living atmosphere and acoustic are obtained.
The flexibility of our concept is reflected not only by
a wide variety of applications, visual diversity, but
also by a whole host of economic options regarding
the use of a NOMADHOME, ranging from purchase to
leasing.

Have you ever heard of the „Borderline syndrome“? Apparently extremely bad for
your health. Thus to be absolutely avoided. First and foremost, restrictions of any kind
are simply unnecessary. They restrict, delay, pinch and disrupt and – above all, more often
than not, they are self-made. That’s why our “garden camel” does not accept boundaries
of any kind. What’s more, he doesn’t
a p p re c i a te the fact that it could be he himself
that is in
the way. Well, that’s where we hit the
nail
on
the head. Therefore the motto for our
NOMADHOME is “No limits”. It’s as simple as
that. But
now it’s getting exciting. What does the term “no limits” mean? Let’s make a mental journey
to a world without limits. Lie down on your back, relax. Close your eyes. Soft music washes
over you. First relax your forehead and your scalp, then your cheeks, your lips... and finally
the tips of your toes. Well, as soon as you feel relaxed, imagine an incredibly beautiful landscape. Wherever you would like to live. City centre? In Paris on the Place de la Concorde?
Very well, now we are getting straight to the point, to the advantages of a NOMADHOME.
That was quick! Because rule number one says: You don’t need to own a plot of land for a
NOMADHOME – a leasehold or rent is sufficient. But let’s go on. What does your dream house
look like? Small surface area but 17 floors instead. No problem. Eight children’s rooms, all
of them with their own entrance, otherwise this bunch of rascals tends to fight like cats and
dogs? Don’t worry – we’ll manage that, too. A block of offices with an integrated penthouse
suite with a breathtaking view of the sea? Well, we’ve already had to figure out more complex tasks. Think hard – we’ll rise to challenges such as a “portable hotel” that moves with
you around the world and provides constant four-star standard. That would be an interesting
business idea worth thinking about. 300 m 2 luxury bungalow with direct access to the lake
and a mini-version of the whole premises for your dog? Well, that could prove difficult as we
could run the risk of provoking the garden camel’s jealousy…
