This may be counter-intuitive, because gardeners think of mulch as a blanket and blankets keep people warm. The mission of mulch is actually to keep the ground frozen. Frost heaves, when the ground freezes, thaws, then freezes again, can harm plants' roots. 2. Put your terra cotta planters and pots in the garage during the winter. 3. If you have containers of plants don't put them up against the house or leave them under the eaves. Put them in the yard where they're protected from the wind but can still get water and dew. 208‐342‐0588 208‐342‐7548 4106 Sand Creek Street Boise, ID 83703 Fax: 208‐342‐0411 www.edwa rdsg reenhouse.com Thank You Edwards Greenhouse!
