Camp Winacka, 4720 Boulder Creek Road, Julian, CA 92036. Once you turn off the main highway, there are brown and white “GS Camp” signs at every turn. Estimated travel time from the Mission Valley area is about 2 hours. Everyone should allow time to adjust for traffic and winding mountain roads. From Highway 78/79: Take Pine Hill Road turnoff, 1 mile west of Julian. Drive 1 ½ miles and bear right on Eagle Peak Road (1 ½ miles to the junction with Boulder Creek Road). Go ¼ mile and bear right on Boulder Creek Road; when it joins Pine Hills Road, continue on Boulder Creek Road ½ mile to the entrance of Camp Winacka on the right (see map). At check-in, you may be asked to move your vehicle to Camp Whispering Oaks. Please back into your parking spot, and keep your keys on your person the entire time you’re at camp. Because parking at Camp Winacka is very limited, all OSW attendees are asked to use resources wisely and arrange a carpool. Those arriving with three or more per vehicle can enter a drawing to win certificates for a Julian Pie Company dessert for each person in the car. One entry per person; carpool with a crowd to boost your chances. Friday: 5-8 p.m., Geico Reception Center; Saturday: 7:30-9 a.m., Winacka Lodge Late arrivals on either day should check in at the Winacka Lodge. You will receive your OSW shirt when you check in. Bring your completed Adult Health History Form. Please check out at the Winacka Lodge. You will receive your OSW patch and may pick up your health history form then (any forms left with us will be shredded). Community kapers must be completed before you check out.
