IFC SHORT CAST September, 2014 Dear Members: September 13th is fast approaching for our annual closing for general Maintenance and Capital Improvements. Our last dinner service will be Saturday September 13th and we will reopen Tuesday September 30th The last few years we were very busy with interior, exterior and overall club improvements. We will only be doing some cleaning and organizing this year, with a couple of surprises. No major improvements are scheduled. Although our staff will be on vacation, I will be here most days and available to you should you need anything. As we get closer to the upcoming season, please think of the club first for any special events you may be planning. This past May we awarded 10 graduating seniors a total of $21,000 in scholarships! We wanted to take a moment and recognize these students for making a commitment to receive a higher education in an environmental or marine field. Thankfully we live in a small but gracious community and with that we know many of the families in our 125 mile island chain and wanted to recognize these students and their awards below. If you know any of these students or their families please reach out to them and let them know we recognize their hard work and achievements while in high school. Michala Laufle-Coral Shores High School Benjamin Colmes-Coral Shores High School Salvador Barrios-Coral Shores High School Azia Keever-Coral Shores High School Sierra Ohrmundt-Coral Shores High School Aimee Erickson-Coral Shores High School Sarah Dodamead-Marathon High School Cody Dominicak-Marathon High School Jonathan Rios-Marathon High School Scott Brown-Key West High School These scholarships are able to be given due to generous donations from our members and our community. If anyone has any questions on how to donate or where to donate please let me know, and stay tuned for some upcoming IFACT fundraisers to help keep these funds in place.
