Vescom has introduced translucent curtain fabrics that absorb five times
more sound than customary translucent curtain fabrics. The curtain
fabrics improve the room's acoustics and are translucent, fire safe
(Trevira CS), durable, lightweight and extremely strong – a combination
previously unavailable for modern architecture.

Thin, transparent curtain fabrics are often selected for modern project interiors.
However, they possess minimal acoustic properties. Until now no solution was available
when light was needed together with an improvement in the acoustic properties. For this
reason Vescom has now introduced translucent, sound-absorbent curtain fabrics:
Carmen, Marmara and Formoza. An innovation!

Although Carmen, Marmara and Formoza are translucent and extremely lightweight
they nevertheless offer a sound absorption coefficient, alphaw, of between 0.5 and 0.6.
The use of these curtain fabrics reduces echoes, absorbs sound and improves
understandability in project surroundings such as office areas, conference rooms,
restaurants, hotel lobbies and multifunctional halls. The fabrics, woven from Trevira CS
yarns, are fire retardant and comply with the most stringent European standard for
public areas (B1 according to DIN 4102). The curtain fabrics, developed and designed
by Annette Douglas, are produced by Vescom.

The designs are being added to binder curtain 01. The collection consists of plain,
patterned, blackout and translucent fabrics. Vescom's current range extends to
wallcovering, upholstery fabrics and curtain fabrics.
