7th Grade Orientation Set
On Monday evening, August 29th, at
6:45 p.m., Clear Lake Jr./Sr. High School
invites all in-coming 7th graders and their
parents to attend an orientation night. At
this meeting, students and their parents
will have the opportunity to learn about
their class schedules, meet several of
their teachers, learn about co-curricular
opportunities, tour the school, and try their
locker combinations. Students may also
pay for lunches and required registration

School Lunch/Breakfast Program
The School District of Clear Lake serves meals each day.
Lunch prices per day are: Elementary - $2.65; High School
- $2.85; Adult - $3.50; reduced lunch price – 40 cents.
Breakfast prices are $1.25 per breakfast for elementary and
high school, adults are $1.70. Reduced breakfast price is
30 cents per breakfast.
One carton of milk is provided with each meal. Each
additional milk, or milk without the purchase of a school
meal, is $.30. Milk for elementary milk break is still provided
by the District at no cost.
Each student is assigned a lunch ID for the school year.
Every family will have one lunch account for all of their
children. As your child(ren) eat lunch, the amount of
the lunch or breakfast will be deducted from your family
account. Due to this type of accounting, we request that
each family deposit no less than $25 into their account. This
amount can be used at any time during the school year.
Food service accounts must maintain a positive balance.
When the balance of an account becomes negative, further
charges will not be allowed.
**A reminder to parents of the school board policy on
delinquent lunch accounts
Grades 4K-6: Students coming through the food service
line shall pay the daily rate or they will be offered a peanut
butter sandwich and a carton of milk for lunch up to three
days.
Grades 7-12: Students coming through the food service
line shall pay the daily rate or be refused service. This
refusal of service shall continue until the account has a
positive balance.
The ability to pay shall not be a deterrent to participation
in the lunch program. Low-income families may qualify for
free or reduced prices upon submitting an application.
Clear Lake High School Season Athletic Passes
Season tickets for all home athletic events (not including
WIAA tournaments) are available at a cost of $28 for single,

admission without the season ticket will be $3 for adults and
$2 for students. Senior Citizens may acquire a Clear Lake
Home event pass, good at all home athletic events, free
of charge. These requests must be made at the District
Business Office.
Early Release Dates for 2016-17 School Year

Levy one of
top scorers in
the State!
Congratulations goes out to Sophomore
Hunter Levy, who was one of only 45
students in the state of Wisconsin to receive
the American Legion’s Americanism and
Government Scholarship for 2016!
Some 4,000 Wisconsin high school
students took the Legion’s Americanism
and Government Scholarship test in April,
and Hunter was one of the top 45 scorers,
and one of the top 15 sophomores, in
the entire state. Hunter will receive a
$250 scholarship for his awareness and
knowledge of our rights and privileges that
we have as American citizens.
Standing with Hunter are the other top
scorers from their respective grades,
Junior Logan Raschick, Junior Dylan
Davidson, and Sophomore Jared Katz.
Ian Ruble and Seth Erickson were top
scorers from the Senior class.
Special thanks goes out to the American
Legion, local Clear Lake Legion Post
#108, local Legion member Bob Buhr
and Mr. Crawford for assisting in the
process! Congrats Hunter and the other
top scorers!

Contemporary History Class visited by Vietnam Veterans
In May Mr. Crawford’s Contemporary History students were
able to meet Clear Lake resident, Neil Lillie. Standing here
next to his granddaughter, Camryn, Mr. Lillie spoke to the
students about his experiences serving 6 ½ years in the US
Air Force. A Vietnam veteran, Mr. Lillie served on search
and rescue missions for soldiers from 1969-1970. Much
of Mr. Lillie’s presentation also focused on his return trips
to Vietnam. In recent years, Mr. Lillie has volunteered for
the organization, Globe Awareness, has raised money,

The Clear Lake School District is would like to remind you of the program called e-Funds for Schools. This program offers an
option for parents/guardians to make payments to their Foodservice account on-line. This program may be accessed through

from their checking account or charged to their credit card and have the ability to do so at any time. Families set up and maintain
their own logins, passwords, and payment preferences similar to other on-line banking services.
The “e-Funds For Schools” electronic payment service is provided to the school by a third party service provider. The service
provider has a nominal fee for their service. If you have any questions, please call the Business Office at 715-263-2114.

“Leona, Love Thy Neighbor, Too” is the sequel to our previously presented play, “Love Thy Neighbor.” Champion
marigold horticulturist, neighborhood snoop, and generally nasty human being Leona Crump is back! Nine years
earlier, she was tricked into selling her home as the result of an elaborate charade instigated by her friends and foes.
But now, finally, her old house is on the market, and Leona is determined to move back into her home, no matter what.
As things proceed Leona goes off the deep end leading everyone to wonder: Is she really the neighborhood witch or
just slightly, but hilariously misunderstood?
