There are three fees that are combined, and all your payments will be made conveniently through Liberty’s Payment Portal.
TRAVEL EXPENSES: The EF College Study Tours fee covers airfare, hotels, activities, and majority of meals. Travel fares usually
go up over time, so register soon to lock in the lowest rate. For current travel expenses, click here.
TRAVEL INSURANCE: LU Students and employees pay only $12.06. Others pay only $38.70.
TIPS: It is customary to tip bus drivers, local guides, and our personal EF tour director who will be with us the entire time. To
make this efficient, we collect $82 each as part of the total fee. Faculty leaders will distribute all the tips during the trip.
The total cost covers EF College Study Tours services, travel insurance, and tips. EF services include round-trip flights; land
transportation; hotels with private bathrooms; full-time tour director; sightseeing tours led by expert local guides. Daily
breakfasts and select local dinners are included in your tour. Generally, we leave lunch up to you so you have an opportunity
to explore your own tastes. If you are traveling for course credit, tuition fees for course credit are in addition to travel fees.
Included in the total cost you pay on Liberty’s Payment Portal is $82 for tips. In European countries, it is customary for tourists
to tip bus drivers, local guides, and tour directors. We charge this as part of your total fee so that the group leader can do all
the tipping when the group is together for activities. This saves time and is much more efficient than each individual group
member standing in line to tip a local guide or a bus driver.
If you choose any additional excursions that are not part of the main trip package, you should plan on another few dollars to
tip bus drivers and local tour guides yourself. Also, when you are dining on your own, 5% is considered an average tip.
You will pay only for souvenirs and a few meals. That’s it! (Daily breakfasts and select local dinners are included in your tour
package.) If you don’t have a passport, you’ll need to pay for that. If you are participating for course credit, tuition fees will
apply.
Monthly payment plans are available on the Payment Portal by clicking here. Monthly due dates are up to you.
Yes, Liberty requires all participants to purchase travel insurance. It is of great advantage to you and is very affordable.
Yes, if these courses are on your Degree Completion Plan, you may receive course credit for EDUC 305, 360, 504, 603, 604, or
703. You may contact an advisor at [email protected] if you have any questions about your DCP. In addition to registering for
the trip with EF College Study Tours, you must also enroll in the course and pay tuition to Liberty for the course in order to
receive credit. The STUDY TOUR section of the course will be offered the same term as the trip itself.
Look in A.S.I.S.T. for your course and ensure that it is designated with “STUDY ABROAD” after the course name and number.
You may enroll in your course during the same academic term of the trip itself.
You can still go on the trip even if you’ve not yet met the course prerequisites. When you are ready to enroll for the course,
the professor can sign a prerequisite override for you to enroll in the “STUDY ABROAD” section.
No, you need not enroll in a course in order to participate on the trip. The trip is open to any LU students/employees and their
guests. Those who want course credit, however, need to enroll in a Liberty course. Course credit is available for EDUC 305,
360, 504, 603, 604, and 703.
Contact the financial aid office at Liberty for details. You may withdraw student loan funds to reimburse yourself for the fees
you pay for the trip. As with any class, when you enroll with Liberty for course credit, you may apply financial aid to the tuition.
