Techniques for Full Engagement
Spiritual
• Change your screen saver to pictures of
friends and family
• Think about who will get your best energy for
the day before you get out of bed
• Volunteer for a cause you are passionate
about at least once in the next 90 days
• Meditate for 5 minutes three days a week
• Read a spiritual book or quote for 5 minutes
daily
Emotional
• Turn away from your computer and give 100%
focus when someone is in your office
• Disconnect from all electronics during dinner
• Write an encouraging note to a friend or
family member once a week
• Think about something you are grateful for
each night before going to bed
• Say one positive thing to a loved one each
time you speak with them
Mental
• Read your mission statement at least once a week
• Spend 5 minutes in the morning visualizing and
preparing for the day’s events
• Make a to-do list first thing in the morning and
prioritize what will require your full attention,
what can wait, and what can be delegated
• Write in a journal for 5 minutes before going to
bed after a stressful day
• Read one mentally challenging book every month
Physical
• Plan a walking meeting at least once per week
• Eat every 4 hours to maximize energy
• Close your eyes and take 3 deep breaths at least
one time during the day
• Stand up at least every 60 minutes
• Choose one movement to practice every morning
before showering (e.g., plank, push-up, wall-sit)
