• The Brooklyn Excelsior was the first
team to use baseball caps in 1860
• Embroidered team logos on hats
originated in the mid to late 1800’s
• During the 1940’s latex rubber was
used to stiffen hats
• Bills were designed to keep the sun
out of players’ eyes

the Yankee hat more famous than a Yankee can.”

• Minor league logos are often more unique than MLB teams
