What we are learning this week:
Bible – review of Moses; Memory Verse is Exodus 15:2 (for grade Wed. 11/16)
Phonics/Reading –phonograms: “aught” and “ough”; making complete sentences with capitals and
periods; antonyms (opposites); rhyming words; compound words
Math – relating alphabet to ordinal numbers; writing number words; showing and writing one-half
(symmetry); identifying pairs; combining dimes and pennies with a cent symbol; comprehending word
problems in math; +2 math facts (students should already know doubles, +1, +0, -1, and -0)
Social Studies - History of Thanksgiving; US symbols
Memory Work: (Say orally for a grade on Wednesday, 11/16)
Exodus 15:2 “The Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation.

Important Information and Reminders:
-There is NO SCHOOL next week for Thanksgiving Break. I hope everyone has a blessed time with family
and friends!
-This Friday is the last day to bring in items for Operation Christmas Child. Thanks to those who have
already so generously donated.
-SIGHT WORDS this week: This week’s words are ones the students should already be familiar with as
they were done earlier in the year.
-Please join us for the SPAGHETTI DINNER, BAKE SALE, and ART SHOW this Wednesday. Only $10 to feed
your whole family!! Contact the office for more information.
-Remember to bring a water bottle each day.
-Library is every Monday, so please have your child return books by that day. Thanks!
