Re-org
WBC Director, Phil, has been in contact with Ray Gonzales, Deputy County Manager regarding the reorg. Ray does like the idea of forming a design group and has offered to bring in someone from
outside the county to help with the final design and workflow and have the county cover these costs,
if necessary. The next steps are that Phil will schedule a meeting with Ray, Chris Kline, and Tricia.
TANF
The TANF program reports to Phil and they currently have a surplus. This surplus is a better indicator
that the unemployment is rate is lower and there is an increase in job openings. There have also
been new rules from the state. Phil will be meeting with members of the TANF management team to
discuss the surplus. Committee member Peter Pike had some ideas around an employment
integrated model and agreed to write up a summary for the meeting.

Board Chair, Tricia Allen, requested the committee to approve the following WDB members to be
part of the Career Pathways Sub-Committee:

Mike Williams


The Executive Committee voted and unanimously approved Chuck Gross and Tawnya Russell to
service on the Youth Sub-Committee.
Resource Fair and Similar Events
Phil reported the WBC participated in a resource fair hosted by Human Services out at the Adams
County Fairgrounds. There were approximately 140 attendees and 100 staff members, businesses
partner agencies. Phil recommended that these types of events be reviewed and approved by the
WDB. It is important that we look at what measurable outcomes we can obtain through the event
prior to participating in these types of events.
Infrastructure Cost Sharing
Information that has been received shows that there will be a formula to negotiate with partners on
infrastructure cost sharing. Every partner agreement will need to include a formula for the general
cost sharing.
Adult Education Vendor Approval
It appears that the WDB will be the final approvers for the adult education vendors for Adams
County. This process is turning into something that much more time intensive than anticipated.
Aurora Office
A representative from the Adams County Human Services department visited the Aurora office to
look at space to see if they could move some of their staff to that office. The WBC is working with the
Arapahoe/Douglas Works, Anschutz, and City of Aurora to discuss the idea of a services HUB in the
Aurora area. The WBC lease in the Aurora office will expire in approximately a year and a half.
Next Executive Committee Meeting
Committee members agreed the next meeting to be in person with a location to be determined.
WDB By-Laws
The By-laws have been read an approved by the Adams County Attorney and now they will go to the
Board of County Commissioners for final approval
WDB Membership
The board may need to replace a member due to non-attendance. Phil is waiting on a response. Also
there may be a member that will be retiring which will also leave an open seat.
November WDB Meeting
Executive Committee members requested WBC staff members provide an overview of the TANF and
Business Services programs. They also requested Success Stories be sent to board members.
