Re: Notification of works – Knockanean, Ennis
Irish Water, working in partnership with Clare County Council is carrying out a water main
rehabilitation project in your area. Ward and Burke Construction Limited is working on behalf
of Irish Water to deliver this project.
It is planned that works will start on the Knockanean Road (L4106) on Tuesday 31 May
2016. Irish Water expects these works to last for approximately 4 weeks. In order to minimise
traffic disruption to Knockanean National School works will be carried out during the following
times:
31 May – 1 June 2016
and
9 June – 24 June 2016
Full road closure between 09:30 to 13:50 each day
Road to re-open between 13:50 – 15:30
Road to fully close again between 15:30 and 22:00
2 June – 8 June 2016
24 hour road closure to accommodate works
The works will involve some excavation outside your property boundary as we need to access
the service pipe for individual properties. If you do not already have a boundary box, one will
be installed outside the boundary of your property. Water disruptions will be experienced
during the transfer of service from the old to the new water main and when the new
connection is made to your property. We will make sure to notify you at least 48 hours in
advance of the disruption.

As part of this project new water mains and connection services will be installed in
your area improving the performance of the network by reducing leakage, improving
system pressure and securing water supply.
This project forms part of Irish Water’s investment plan in which over
€530 million will be invested in upgrading water and wastewater services in 2016 in
order to improve the country’s water infrastructure.
