Gary R. Jensen Chief of Police PERSONNEL COMPLAINT INFORMATION About us The Logan City Police Department is responsible for protecting the lives of those who live in or visit the City of Logan. Annually, this department receives more than 22,000 calls for service. Our officers are highly trained and serve this city with pride. Officers have a desire to assist you with those services this Police Department has to offer. In many cases, officers serve as arbitrators where they are asked to help resolve differences between individuals. At times decisions they make are not popular with all parties involved. We realize our involvement in complex and often emotionally charged situations may not always result in the level of performance or satisfaction expected. For this reason, the Police Department has a well defined procedure for assisting those who wish to voice their grievance against our operations, policies, or employee conduct. We take your concerns seriously. All investigations are thorough, objective, and are aimed at maintaining public confidence and departmental integrity. Complaint procedure Individuals have the right to file a complaint against either the Logan City Police Department or any individual member employed by the department. If a person arrested by Logan City Police Officers files a citizen complaint against those officers, such action will not affect the prosecutor’s independent decision to proceed with the criminal action. In all cases, the individual making the complaint will be informed of its final disposition to the extent allowed by law. Although department investigators will exert every effort to determine the facts of the each situation, in those cases where the complainant feels a proper investigation has not been conducted, the Police Department urges the complainant to seek further recourse through any of the outside agencies they feel inclined.
