Electromagnetic Spectrum Project For this project, your group will create and present a wiki on one section of the Electromagnetic Spectrum (EM Spectrum). Wiki: A collaborative web site set up to allow user editing and adding of content. With a wiki, your group will be able to easily add text, pictures, sounds, movies, animation, and interactive simulations to a webpage collaboratively to create a multimedia presentation for your classmates. To do this, your groups will research and paste various content from around the web. You can paste in text and pictures and embed various videos and simulations. With a wiki, each member of your group can add content simultaneously while on different computers. Your group will be assigned one portion of the EM Spectrum. The EM Spectrum consists of the following: Gamma Rays – X-rays – Ultra Violet – Visible Light (ROYGBIV) – Infrared – Microwaves – Radio Waves Your group will receive a URL address for your wiki. Your group needs to keep this URL private. Not doing so will result in loss of credit for your group. When you are finished with your wiki, your group will need to notify Mr. Krupicka so he can lock your wiki site to prevent any further editing. Mr. Krupicka will post video tutorials on the classroom website to help you with pasting text, pictures, and embedding video. This project will be graded based on two criteria: Content and Presentation Content: Your group’s project needs to contain text, pictures, videos, and animations and be organized in a logical and coherent way. Your project will need to contain at minimum: Title Body Text 4 Pictures 2 videos/animations Color Your project will need to contain at minimum the following information: Name of wave Description of wave Wavelength Frequency When discovered Who discovered (picture) Ways in which humans benefit o Consumer products o Medical applications Dangers to humans Presentation: Your group will present your wiki in front of your class. The class will be writing down notes of each presentation.
