RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Committee endorse the change of dates for the temporary road
closure of Grose Street, between Bay and Francis Streets, Glebe as follows:
•
Stage 1 – 8pm to 6am, Sunday 30 April to Thursday 4 May 2017;
•
Stage 2 – from 8pm on Friday 5 May through to 6am on Monday 8 May 2017;
•
Stage 3 – from 8pm on Monday 8 May through to 6am on Tuesday 9 May 2017; and
•
Additional dates for inclement weather of 14-18 May 2017 between 8pm and 6am;
from 8pm on 19 May through to 6am on 22 May 2017; and from 8pm on 22 May to
6am on 23 May 2017.

The Committee carried the recommendation unanimously out-of-session on 30 March
2017.
BACKGROUND
On 21 December 2016, the Local Pedestrian, Cycling and Traffic Calming Committee
(LPCTCC) endorsed the temporary closure of Grose Street, between Bay and Francis
Streets, Glebe as follows:
•
Stage 1 – 8pm to 6am, Sunday 19 February to Thursday 23 February 2017;
•
Stage 2 – from 8pm on Friday 24 February through to 6am on Monday 27 February
2017;
•
Stage 3 – from 8pm on Monday 27 February through to 6am on Tuesday 28 February
2017; and
•
Additional dates of 26 February to 2 March 2017 between 8pm and 6am; from 8pm on
3 March through to 6am on 6 March 2017; and from 8pm on 7 March to 6am on 8
March 2017.

The Applicant has advised that the temporary closure could not be carried out on the
preferred and alternative dates and has requested the following new dates for the
temporary road closure as follows:
•
Stage 1 – 8pm to 6am, Sunday 30 April to Thursday 4 May 2017;
•
Stage 2 – from 8pm on Friday 5 May through to 6am on Monday 8 May 2017;
•
Stage 3 – from 8pm on Monday 8 May through to 6am on Tuesday 9 May 2017; and
•
Additional dates for inclement weather of 14-18 May 2017 between 8pm and 6am;
from 8pm on 19 May through to 6am on 22 May 2017; and from 8pm on 22 May to
6am on 23 May 2017.
COMMENTS
The City circulated the change of dates to the relevant voting LPCTCC members and the
Transport Management Centre (TMC) for consideration. The Committee carried the
recommendation unanimously out-of-session on 30 March 2017.
CONSULTATION
The Applicant is required to notify affected stakeholders as stipulated in Schedule B.
FINANCIAL
All costs associated with the proposed closures will be borne by the Applicant.
