Recruitment Business Partner
Ambitious about Autism runs Treehouse School and Ambitious College – working
with pupils with a diagnosis of Autism from ages 4 through to 25.
Role Purpose
To lead on the further development of effective workforce planning and recruitment
strategies to meet the needs of a growing organisation ensuring the right people are
recruited at the right time with the right skills, knowledge and competencies.
You will lead and guide the priorities of those responsible for recruitment within the
People Team.

Lead on the development of & planning in relation to longer term recruitment
strategies, workforce planning & resourcing solutions based on best practice.

Maintain an overview of all recruitment undertaken at Ambitious about Autism,
produce reports and statistics as required focussing on recruitment and retention –
make recommendations for change.

Design and implement improved, creative and effective recruitment strategies and
processes

Ensure that assessments centres and open days to source candidates and increase
the employer brand awareness are an integral part of the annual recruitment plan.

Review job titles, job descriptions / and person specifications for roles, particularly in
the School and College and make recommendations in support of improved
recruitment opportunities.

Ensure that onboarding and induction is undertaken in a way that immediately
engages and supports new starters

Ensure that processes for internal promotion are supported and are seen to work well
and fairly.

Work collaboratively with HRIS Business Partner to develop and maximise
efficiencies and improvements to be delivered via (e-recruit) technology solutions to
recruitment.

Devise and implement new initiatives such as an apprenticeship scheme with a view
to increasing diversity in the workforce, working with Service Development Managers
where appropriate.

Working with those responsible for Communications and Marketing to strengthen the
employer brand and talent attraction strategies, promoting Ambitious about Autism as
an employer of choice

Oversee the use of recruitment agencies, develop preferred supplier lists and
monitor spend to maximise return on investment

Manage recruitment expenditure effectively and in line with agreed budgets

Where appropriate and for more specialist or senior roles work with recruiting
managers to shape selection processes and where appropriate conduct final stage
interviews with candidates

Undertake in-depth review of selection methodologies, making recommendations for
and implementing change.

Ensure all recruitment activities and the candidate life-cycle are underpinned by our
Values, and adhere to the requirements of Safer Recruitment and Safeguarding.

Working with others in the People Team, ensure that exit interview data is captured,
analysed and factored appropriately into recruitment & retention strategies.

Manage an experienced Recruitment Business Partner who is focussed on
recruitment operations across services.

Maintain up to date knowledge of, and developments affecting, the relevant external
jobs market – in Education / Special Needs Education in particular.

1. CIPD qualified or equivalent HR qualification / experience

3. Experience of overseeing / running multiple recruitment
campaigns simultaneously

4. Knowledge of overseas recruitment, UKBA Sponsor
Management System, Residency Labour Market Test

5. Understanding of Safer Recruitment and processes
relating to the maintenance of a Single Central Record

6. Experience of setting up and leading apprenticeship
schemes

7. A strong focus on providing a high standard of advice and
support to managers including senior managers and
delivering recruitment & selection training.
8. Successful track record of managing recruitment
expenditure

9. Education, Social Care, Third sector experience is
essential and Education/SEN experience is desirable
x
10. Demonstrable up-to-date working knowledge of current
employment legislation, policies, practices and procedures
and the impact on best recruitment and induction practices
11. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an
ability to deal with sometimes complex and/or sensitive
situations with professionalism, tact and diplomacy
12. Good IT skills to ‘self serve’ including HR Information
Systems and preferably use of erecruit

13. Excellent organisational, project management and time
management skills, ability and experience to coordinate
multiple tasks simultaneously. The jobholder will also need
to be able to work under pressure at times in order to meet
deadlines and therefore must be able to demonstrate
