As one employee said, “I love my coworkers here at St. Brigid’s. I consider everyone here my friend!” Easter Sunday T he holiest week of the entire church year is fast approaching. Here at St. Brigid’s, several spiritual opportunities will be offered to allow residents, tenants and their families to participate in celebrating the events of Holy Thursday (Maundy Thursday), Good Friday and Easter Sunday. All of the services begin at 9:30 a.m. The events that took place over 2000 years ago- the suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ- are what we celebrate every time we receive Communion, called the Paschal Mystery. To quote a seminary professor from St. Paul, “To not experience the whole of the passion, death, and resurrection is to miss the largest portion of the mystery itself.” As a result, Holy Thursday will feature a ritual foot washing to emulate what Jesus did for the disciples, Good Friday will include the reading of the entire Passion of Jesus up to and including his death on the cross, and Easter morning St. Brigid’s will celebrate his resurrection from the dead. Chaplain Dar Reeck said, “As always, family members and friends are invited and encouraged to attend with their loved ones. We would love to see as many here as possible.” Calendar of Events V isit www.St-Brigids.com or become a fan on Facebook to see a complete description of all events.
