Master Crayon Artist
Don Marco to Visit
P
lease join St. Brigid’s in welcoming Master Crayon Artist Don Marco
Tuesday, April 24 at 1 p.m. Don retired in 1973 from the Honolulu International Airport and has spent most of his spare time as a professional
artist. He was born in Northern Minnesota and currently lives in Red
Wing. Before retiring, Don started developing a technique to create fine
art using Crayola Crayons. He has sold more than 1 million prints and is
featured nationwide. When asked what the trick to his master pieces are,
Don said, “There are certain colors that just don’t work well. Experiment
with a different base color and use a softer touch. And practice!”
Sister Claudia
Award
C
ongratulations to Nursing Assistant/
TMA Fatima Casterlin for being awarded the 2nd Annual Sister Claudia Living a
Legacy award March 21. Fatima was nominated by three coworkers and one resident.
Fatima was selected for this honor because
of her attitude and commitment to the Mission and Core Values, which emulated Sister
Claudia’s attitude and commitment. As one
employee said, “Fatima is the perfect person
for this award, congratulations.” In 2011,
LPN Angie Dicke received the honor.

Our Employees!
R
eason #65 on why employees love it at St. Brigid’s- FRIENDS! As
one employee said, “I love my coworkers here at St. Brigid’s. I consider everyone here my friend!”
Easter Sunday
T
he holiest week of the entire church year
is fast approaching. Here at St. Brigid’s,
several spiritual opportunities will be offered
to allow residents, tenants and their families
to participate in celebrating the events of Holy
Thursday (Maundy Thursday), Good Friday
and Easter Sunday. All of the services begin at
9:30 a.m. The events that took place over 2000
years ago- the suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ- are what we celebrate
every time we receive Communion, called the
Paschal Mystery. To quote a seminary professor from St. Paul, “To not experience the whole
of the passion, death, and resurrection is to
miss the largest portion of the mystery itself.”
As a result, Holy Thursday will feature a ritual
foot washing to emulate what Jesus did for the
disciples, Good Friday will include the reading
of the entire Passion of Jesus up to and including his death on the cross, and Easter morning
St. Brigid’s will celebrate his resurrection from
the dead.
Chaplain Dar Reeck said,
“As always, family members
and friends are invited
and encouraged
to attend with
their loved
ones. We
would love
to see
as many
here as
possible.”
