big screen while floating around in a pool? Well this will be your
chance to do just that! Our movie screen will be set-up on The
Camp’s pool deck and we’ll be playing a movie suitable with our
water theme. Don’t forget your favorite float!
H2O Poser Day – We all know it’s easy to take pictures out
of water, so let’s try to take pictures underwater! We have the
underwater camera and pool toys; all you need to do is bring the
creativity. Once the ‘photo shoot’ is over, we will develop your
favorite picture. Who has an underwater family portrait? You could.

the fact that it’s still summer with games that are sure to
get you wet. Not to mention, we’ll have a slip and slide.
A FALL BREAK ESCAPE - Hully Gully Cabin

corner, what better place to spend a couple beautiful days than at Camp Lake
James. Enjoy the serene view of Lake James and the colors of fall in the

NATURE NOTES -Perseids Meteor Shower
What’s better than lying on your back at night and starring at the stars? Our answer here is ‘not much’ except when
there’s a meteor shower on that same night! From August 9
–August 14, be sure to gaze up at the night’s sky because the
Perseids meteor shower is scheduled to make its appearance.
Perseids is the name of a prolific meteor shower associated with
the comet, Swift-Tuttle. A stream of debris, called the Perseids
cloud, stretches along the orbit of the comet Swift-Tuttle. The
cloud consists of particles ejected by the comet as it travels on
its 130-year orbit. Most of the dust in the cloud today is around
a thousand years old. This meteor shower has been observed for
over 2000 years. During its peak, the rate of meteors reaches 60
or more per hour. They can be seen all across the sky, but because
of the path of Swift-Tuttle’s orbit, the Perseids meteor shower is
primarily visible in the northern hemisphere.
