Tom
Hi my name is Tom and i’m a year 11 senior prefect at Tod high. I am currently studying for my GCSE’s, where I have taken
Art, Geography, Resistant materials (woodwork) and triple science along with maths and English etc... Art and resistant
materials are my favourite subjects.
In my prefect job applica0on I applied for 5 roles these were art club prefect with Miss Bilham, resistant materials
technician with Mr Ferris, Art technician with Miss Greaves, Films that make you think debate group with Miss Wells and PE
prefect with Mr Duerden. I applied for these roles as I felt they suited the various skills I’ve got.
A5er year 11 I plan to move onto A-levels and then either to scrape out a career as a professional mountain bike racer or
move abroad either to Western Canada or the Alps to become a mountain bike tour guide and instructor.
Outside of school I try to have as much fun as possible, mainly on two wheels! I race compe00vely at regional Downhill
mountain bike races and hope to move onto the Bri0sh na0onal series and beyond! To help me achieve this goal which
isn’t cheap, I have been contac0ng various bike shops in the local area applying for work and sponsorship. One of these
applica0ons was successful and I have
been taken on as part 0me employee at
Cycle Addicts in Rochdale who will also be
helping me out at races.
I also have been involved in the
development of a local mountain bike
centre in Cornholme, giving up my spare
0me to help build the tracks, check our
work out at www.dirt-trax.co.uk. Cricket is
another passion of mine, I play for
Todmorden CC regularly opening the
ba9ng and have a great 0me, occasionally
captaining.
Sajeea
My name is Sajeea, I’m in year 11. I
am a senior prefect and the jobs I
applied for were Science Technician,
English homework club, films to
make you think, World Studies and
French Prefect. I applied for these
subjects mainly because I enjoyed
doing them and I study many of
these subjects for my GCSEs.
would like to study these specific subjects because I feel that
they will help me to achieve my career goal.
My favourite subjects in school are Science and English; this
is because I find them interes0ng and I like to write. When I
leave school I would like to go to university and study
medicine, I hope to specialise in psychiatry. Outside of
school I take part in the Duke of Edinburgh award, this has
helped me experience new challenges and has also helped
me build on my social skills.
My interests are reading and listening to music. My favourite
author is John Green.
A5er year 11 I plan to stay on at sixth form at Todmorden
High and study Biology, Chemistry, English and Psychology. I

Going to Todmorden High school gave me the confidence and goals and the push I
needed to become a young adult with the capabili0es to pass down informa0on and
general knowledge to other pupils and people who just need a good old fashioned
chat about whatever takes their fancy.
As you are all aware my absolute favourite subjects at school are P.E. and Maths. The
reasons I love P.E. are that it’s packed with mental and full on physical exercise. I
know that nowadays a lot of children and adults just don’t enough exercise either
due to laziness or because work is stopping them from relaxing enough so they
perhaps have not got the energy to come home, grab a bite to eat and then rush to
the gym. Even though I am at school all day I s0ll find the 0me at home to train and
swim, I work out because I need to achieve my goals in life.
Maths is also a much needed subject which is used every single second of your day, without it you would have no money
and everything else that is associated with it. I am aiming for the best grades I can possibly get so I can move on to my
chosen carer of game designer.
Computers are hard work, not just pushing a few bu=ons and the screens got all you need on it, oh no, the job I’m talking
about consists of numbers, calcula0ons and graphics but I like challenges and if there’s an obstacle in my way I move it!
My hobby has taught me to be pa0ent, disciplined, to control anger, aggression and to respect other people and their
feelings. Muay Thai isn’t just a mar0al art, it’s an art on its own, one that you find you have to be born to do. Up un0l I
started this hobby I found I wasn’t respec?ul, I was aggressive and rude. Now I’ve been taught that an aggressive mind is a
narrow mind along with causing all the other horrid things I used to do.
So yes I suppose my greatest achievement so far is my figh0ng career, without it I’d be lazy, undetermined, overweight and
not a very popular kid.
A5er I leave school I’m going to college in Rochdale to study game designing, as I think the way the world’s going
computers are going to be more popular than people, so it’s the best way forward. Computers are the future and I want to
be part of that future. For my prefect job I’ve chosen P.E. because I’d like to keep my op0ons open. If gaming doesn’t work
out being a fitness trainer might be an op0on, who knows? If you try hard to keep an open mind and are not afraid to try
new things then before you know it the whole world’s your oyster.

I am currently studying History and Triple Science as my op0on subjects. Last year I
took French, in which I achieved a B and Geography which I got an A in. My
favourite subjects are History, English and Chemistry.
I applied to be a Science Prefect as I really enjoy Science. I also applied to be a
Drama Prefect as I enjoy musicals and dance.
Outside of school I do ballet. Last year I took my Grade 5 exam where I achieved a
merit. I am also comple0ng my Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award with Explorers. For
my volunteering sec0on of this I volunteer at Brownies.
A5er I finish my GCSEs I would like to stay at the sixth form to study Combined
English Literature and Language, Psychology, Law, History or Chemistry. I would
then like to go to university to study to be a Criminal Psychologist.
I also par0cipated in the Young Roots Project and the Weir Minerals Community
Challenge.

Kyra
My favourite subjects at school are
Business Studies, English and Health
and Social care. I applied to be an
office prefect on a Thursday at dinner
because I think I’d enjoy it and also
you get to show people around the
school and talk to other visitors.
When I finish year 11 I plan to move
on and enrol at college in Burnley to
do a Business Studies course or Health and Social Care.
When I leave Todmorden High and I’ve finished college I
want to start up a business in childcare or become a nurse at
an army rehabilita0on centre.
Hello my name is Kyra and I am a senior prefect in year
11. My favourite subject in school is French as I love
languages and I really enjoy English, Chemistry and
History, which I find really interes0ng.
My hobbies and interests outside of school are mee0ng
friends and going out and going on social networking sites or
comple0ng coursework and drawing. I also babysit which I
enjoy because I look a5er children at different ages
I have many achievements such as a Duke of Edinburgh
award, 100% a=endance. I also had a proud moment when I
received my GCSE results from year 10. This was a proud
moment because I thought I had done really badly but I did
well and came out with nothing lower than a C with
coursework added on. By doing my final year of GCSEs at
Todmorden High I hope to achieve higher results than I did
last year in year 10.
I applied for the prefect roles of French club, Book club
and a drama prefect, all of which I was offered. I applied
for French because I really want to support younger
years in their French GCSEs. I love reading which is why I
applied for Book Club as I have a slight obsession with
books. I really love musical theatre and theatre in general
so naturally I was interested in ge9ng involved in drama.
A5er year 11 I intend to a=end the sixth form to study
French, English, History and Chemistry and then go to
university to study a degree in French, Classics or
perhaps a joint degree in French and beginners Russian. I
hope to then work with languages as a translator or
interpreter.
Outside of school I’m interested in theatre and I love
music. I play piano whenever I can. I also have a job as a
waitress at the Top Brink, which helps me with social
interac0on skills.
My name is Jenni-Lea and I am a year 11 prefect. My favourite subjects at school are
science and English mainly because they link in to what I would like to do as a job when
I finish educa0on. I would like to stay here for 6th form as I find it easier to work in an
environment I have se=led down to and know well.
The prefect jobs I applied for were a junior science technician, an incredible edible
prefect, a drama prefect, an English display prefect and an office prefect. I applied for
these ones because I have experience in all of them and I thought I would enjoy them.
The jobs I got were the junior science technician and the incredible edible prefect,
which I am pleased about as they were the Jobs at the top of my list and they will help
me get the job I would like.
I have achieved quite a bit during my life. My main achievements however are being in a short horror film (‘The Quiet’ by
I’m With Them Produc0ons), and becoming a prefect. These two achievements made me and the rest of my family proud.
