Also the Quilt Show committee reserves the right to change an entry into a different category. QUILT SLEEVE INSTRUCTIONS Sleeves are required for all Quilts with a top measurement of 60" or more in order to display them on our racks. Use the following instructions to create and attach the sleeve. 1. Measure the width of your quilt. 2. Cut a muslin strip 5" shorter than the width of your quilt and 5" wide. Cut the length in half. 3. Turn all edges under 1/2" on both pieces. 4. Measure 1" down from the top of the quilt and mark. 5. Measure 3" down from the first marking to make the second marking. 6. Center the muslin strips between the two sides of your quilt, placing them 2" from the outside edges. There will be a 3" space in the middle. 7. Hand sew the top of your strips to your first marking and the bottom of the strips to your second marking. NOTE: The sleeve will not be flat against the quilt. It must have a gap to fit our racks. The space in the middle will allow our sagging rods to be tied to the frame for extra support. Return all entry form(s) to Ruth Taha no later than Saturday, March 4, 2017. Forms can also be mailed to Ruth Taha, 1713 Gregory Street, Normal, IL 61761 or at [email protected] prior to the deadline. Please have HAAQG Entry Form on the subject.
