Writing – Compound Sentences
We have been learning about simple and compound sentences in
class. A simple sentence contains only one complete thought.
A compound sentence is two simple sentences that have been
joined together.
Combine the following simple sentences together to create
compound sentences. The diagram below might help you.
Jan went to the carnival. She had a great time.
Jan wanted to ride the roller coaster. She didn’t have enough
money.
Jane played video games at the arcade. She won a doll.
Jan started to get hungry. She bought a hot dog.
Jan arrived at 6.00pm. She could only stay for one hour.
