I am from Norfolk and we’re
really close to the beach and

Rock climbing! It is so fun

My family went to Top Golf for my mom’s
birthday and it was a lot of fun.

I live in Manassas and I love the forest and all
of Historic Manassas.

I want to become a judge in the Federal
Supreme Court, or a world leader.

Some of this week’s highlights…
Tuesday, January 17:
Hunters from across the Commonwealth
gathered on Capitol Square to lobby for
hunting rights. Some brought their
hound dogs in opposition to HB 1900
that would require dog owners to pay a
$100 fine per dog for any dog found on
private property.
Wednesday, January 18:
Senate Bill 1440, a measure that would
allow Virginians to carry a concealed
weapon without a permit, advanced from
the Senate Courts of Justice Committee.
The full Senate will hear this bill on the
floor.
Members of the House passed HB 1582,
a bill that would allow members of the
military to obtain a concealed handgun
permit at the age of 18
“Day of Tears” and encourages
people across Virginia to lower their
flags to half-staff over abortion.

The full General Assembly appointed
new judges to various courts across
the Commonwealth.
Thursday, January 19:
A House subcommittee voted to kill
HB 1612, a bill that would have
required schools and government
buildings to allow people to use the
restroom solely based on birth sex
rather than gender identity.
Tuesday, January 24:
Two bills of controversy passed the
House on Tuesday: HB 1578, a bill to
allow homeschooled students to
participate in public school activities,
and HB 1392, a bill that would allow
school security officers to carry a
firearm in performance of duties.

The Pages had such a great time preparing for the game, and an even better time
cheering on the Delegates and Senators as they played a great game. It was a
wonderful time and the House Pages would like to congratulate the Delegates and
Senators on a job well done!
Between 1619 and 1624 the General Assembly held at least three sessions
at Jamestown under the authority of the Virginia Company of London. In
1624 King James I dissolved the Virginia Company and when the General
Assembly met in 1625, Virginia had become a royal crown colony. Virginia’s
legislature, sometimes styled the “Grand Assembly,” continued to meet
regularly at Jamestown for at least 15 more unicameral sessions, subject to
the call of the royal governor.
