MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT COUNCIL ELECTIONS
Attention middle school students: Nomination forms for the middle school Student Council (StuCo) are due to
Mr. Z on or by Tuesday, August 16. Candidates will give a one-minute speech at the beginning of chapel on
Friday, August 19, followed by elections. The first StuCo meeting will be held immediately after chapel that day.
Please support and encourage all of our candidates for being willing to help make our school great!
~~Mr. Seidlitz, Middle School StuCo advisor
OPEN HOUSE FOR ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOL
The annual Open House for Elementary and Middle School will take place on Thursday, August 18th, from
3:00-4:00 pm. This is a chance to meet your children’s teachers and to learn about classroom procedures and
expectations. It is not meant to be a conference to talk about specific student issues. We will start with a short group
meeting in the PAC and then go to individual classrooms. Elementary teachers will each meet with parents in their
classrooms. Middle school will have an additional short meeting, and teachers will be available for parents to visit at
their convenience.
~~Lynette Tillman, Interim Head of School
YOUNG EAGLES SPORTS CLUB (2nd to 5th GRADERS)
Attention 2nd to 5th Graders! There will be a parent-run sports club starting Friday, August 26 to November 25,
meeting Wednesdays and Fridays, 3:00-4:15 pm. First semester will focus on soccer. A flier and registration
form are attached. Encourage your parents to coach and assist. This would not happen without parental
involvement! Sign up in the Business Office by August 17.

CHILD SAFETY MEETING
If you are willing or have been asked to help here at school any time throughout the coming school year, we would
like you to go through our Child Safety Meeting. It is a requirement for anyone who works with students on or off
campus for school related activities. The safety of our students is extremely important to us at FIA. Please come to
the meeting on August 29, 8:00 am. If you have questions, please contact me.
~~Lynette Tillman, Interim Head of School
TO ALL PARENTS
FIA is a community school. We enjoy working with you to educate your children. If you are normally around
school during regular school hours, it communicates a mistrust of the school and/or the teachers. Your children
may also feel a mistrust of their ability to be at school independently. Therefore, if you would like to spend time on
campus with your children, please communicate with your child/ren's teacher(s). Occasional prearranged visits are
almost always welcome.
Also, a reminder that drivers, helpers and yayas are to remain in the parking lot or at the front bahay kubos, and go
no further than the business office lobby during the school day. Thank you for your kind consideration.
~~Lynette Tillman, Interim Head of School
HOT LUNCH ORDER
Please remember, the business office needs all hot lunch orders in by the date specified on the e-mail. If you turn
your order in after that date, you must talk directly with Rose in the business office before knowing if your child has
a meal. Please remember that the number of meals prepared are for those that have placed their orders. We
appreciate your help in making sure that our canteen works smoothly.
