Equestrian
Adventure!
- Cassie Belmont
We will be doing riding lessons
here at Monte Vista every day
and will take a day trip to the
Steinbeck Veterinary Hospital in
Salinas and the Pebble Beach
Equestrian Center. On Wed, we
will visit the Woodside Horse Park
and Carousel Saddlery.
Students will learn more about
horses and riding and will have an
opportunity to learn about different careers available to riders,
trainers, and veterinarians.
Students receive a bigger picture of
the Equestrian community in our area.
They will meet Veterinarians, show
managers, and tack shop owners. They
will also get to spend a lot of time riding
horses.Students will need long pants
for riding.

Gifting and Giving (Pinterest Style)
- Mrs. Reese and Ms. Gilleland
You can’t sleep. You’ve spent the last hour and a half sneaking onto Pinterest while your parent’s sleep in the next
room. You have a condition and Mrs. Reese and Ms. Gilleland
are your solution. Get your hot glue guns and glitter ready
ladies, because over the next week, we will be helping you
share both your Pinterest DIY crafts and spiritual gifts
with others.

Animated Movies & Shorts - Mr.Stanton
From beautiful classics of yesteryear to today's CGI masterpieces, animation in many ways represents cinematic storytelling at
its best: Few other art forms can bridge generational differences
and inspire young and old with timeless lessons of hope, courage,
and love. In this class, students will be watching some of the
greatest animated movies and shorts of all time and all in stereo
surround sound. Movies watched in class will be nominated by
the students. Possible animated movie nominations might
include Toy Story, Frozen, Monsters Inc. Finding Nemo, Shrek,
Up, The Incredibles, Walle, Kung Fu Panda, Wreck-It Ralph,
Despicable Me, Madagascar, Big Hero 6, Mega Mind, Minions,
Inside Out, Home, The SpongeBob Movie, Hotel Transylvania,
The Lego Movie, Rio, The Nut Job, Penguins Of Madagascar,
Shaun The Sheep, Pixels, The Croods, Open Season, Turbo,
Escape From Planet Earth, ParaNorman, Frankenweenie,
House, Tangled, Gnomeo & Juliet, and hundreds more.
Snacks will be provided during the movie. After each
viewing we will be engaged in an exciting discussion time
to identify and explore some of the important analogies
and life lessons that are present in each film.

This course is designed for
a group of no more than 15
students, and it is open for
beginning, intermediate, and
advanced students. Chess is
an important skill because it
improves the mind by encouraging critical thinking and
creativity. In this course
students will have the opportunity to enhance their skill by
participating in class tournaments. Furthermore, students will
be instructed on strategies that
will enhance their ability to
play chess.

play an 18 hole Frisbee Golf

Ready to get your fabulous on?
This course focuses on making YOU
a better YOU! Each day will include
physical, spiritual and relational
components and challenges.
Students will work out their physical
bodies, listen and discuss inspirational spiritual videos and play fun
interactive relational games.

The students will watch and discuss sports movies that have had an
impact on our cultures through the ages.

Pickle Ball Mania 1-Mrs. Siemsen
Come and learn how to play the fastest growing sport in America:
Pickle Ball! This fast paced indoor/outdoor game is a mix of
tennis, ping pong, and badminton. Cost is $20 and students will
keep their equipment.

Volleyball-Mrs.Wertman
This course will teach various volleyball skills including but not
limited to passing, setting, hitting, and serving. Students
will be able to practice and improve volleyball playing skills,
learn proper rotation and engage in cooperative and
competitive activities to improve volleyball playing skills.

Students will have the opportunity to practice and enhance
their skills in the sport of basketball during this March Term
elective. Class time will primarily consist of full court games,
allowing students significant exercise while practicing basketball in scrimmage competitions.

Turn your favorite pics into a one-of-a-kind photobook.
You will use your own digital photos and an online program
to create a unique keepsake. Story lines or captions can
be included or pictures can stand alone. Capture your
middle school memories in this fun and creative class!

Remember in elementary
school dashing out to the
playground to be the first in
line to play foursquare or
tetherball? We are going to
play some similar games that
you may have enjoyed in
elementary school.
These
games, however, are no longer
for the elementary school
student! We will play some modified, more advanced versions of
games such as Capture the Flag,
Nation Ball, Prisoner, etc. Come
on out, reminisce about your childhood while playing some games that
require strategy, skill, and team
cooperation while having a blast
during March Term.

Swimming - Mrs.Wertman
This swimming course will enable students to learn and practice
the various strokes including but not limited to the freestyle,
breaststroke, butterfly, and backstroke.
Students will have the opportunity to learn and practice
proper arm and leg movements for each stroke as well as gain
an understanding of breathing techniques. This course will
provide both cooperative and competitive swimming skills to
improve stamina, speed and overall comfort in the water.
