Students will take on the role of
Alexander Hamilton or Thomas
Jefferson as they debate the rise of the
political parties. Students will then
learn about the growth of the new
nation as they do a gallery walk
activity.
In science we will be starting our
chapters on sponges, worms and
cnidarians. We will be moving closer
towards our frog and pig dissection.
Thanks to all parental support during
science fair. It was a HUGE success!!
Algebra: Students will be focusing on
Solving Systems of Linear Equations. They
will use multiple forms to solve, such as
graphing, substitution & elimination methods.
Pre-Algebra: Students will be focusing on
graphing and writing linear equations. They
will learn multiple forms, such as
slope-intercept, standard and point-slope.
Eighth grade English students are
hard at work developing their topic
choice, organization, word choice , and
conventions in their writing. Students
will be responding to literature in class
with text dependent writing.
Students will be working on
recognizing descriptive words and
phrases using short stories from our
literature anthology. The focus of our
selections will be how authors develop
the setting and mood of a story.
Students need to start thinking about high school registration, as students will be
registering in February.
