As cliffs continue to collapse they move inland leaving behind a flat bench of rock Sometimes a cave will get eroded all the way through a headland from one side to another. The sea attacks cracks in the cliff. As they grow larger the cracks form into a large and deep hollow space in the rock Eventually an arch will collapse leaving behind tall pillars of rock which have waves on all sides Activity 5: Coastal Processes (Worksheet A) Marine & Coastal Education Pack 2008 Worksheet iii) Coastal Formations along the Jurassic Coast: Images of coastal feature Old Harry Rocks BlackenHole, Purbeck Man ’o’ War Cove Burton Bradstock Foreland Point , Old Harry Rocks Seven Rock Point, West of Lyme Durdle Door Activity 5: Coastal Processes (Worksheet A) Marine & Coastal Education Pack 2008 Features of erosion along the Jurassic Coast, Dorset Pupils recording sheet Name of feature Draw a sketch of the correct photograph Explanation : Copy the correct information from the cards ……………………………………………..
