In January 2015 Albania Partner (Ministry of Energy of Industry) carried out the process to
implemenation a theatrical presentation at four schools in Lushnje Region as part in the project
“The Odyssey at the time of recycle and alternative energy”. The group of presentation of the
project is composed by actors Ms. Brunilda Belaj, Ms Klodiana Keco as contractors were in present
in Molfetta Bari- attending the training, which was organized within the framework of the
project. This activity presented the vision following the steps:
1. Objectives
What was alternatives? We have to be aware of the importance of recycle waste as part of
Renewable Energy. The new technological development is oriented toward biodegradable of waste.
They are the main part of so-called green waste.
The most important thing is to talk to (and teach) small children about waste recycling to produce
energy. The first educational steps take place in our homes and kindergartens. The most valuable
lessons about waste recycling are connected to playing and fun. The educational aims could be
achieved more quickly if older children (secondary school students) were involved in educational
processes.
2. What benefits does the project offer (and to whom)?
The project was based on contents that might enable common learning, an exchange of experience
and knowledge sharing among generations. In order to involve either pupils and adults, the narrative
of the show foresees different moments of interaction with the audience, and this accelerates the
identification and subjectivization process of the environmental and energy issues, here put in place
in a ludic and playful way.
The project was an example of cooperation between schools of Lushnje Region. It had three main
aims: sustainable development, intergenerational partnership, and solidarity.
3. Benefits from the project work were some learning experiences in real situations used for the
scenery and the show recall rubbish to re-use or alternative energy machines: pedal moved fans,
dynamo alimented lamps, small solar panels, and so on All these experiences can help to develop
better personal and social skills.
4. Key factors of the project
The main key factors of the project were:
- to empower students and kids to think creatively and to act responsibly;
- to develop life skills (e.g. teamwork, self-esteem, good communication, intergenerational learning,
active citizenship, care for each other – across generations).
5. Why was the project important ?
Education today comprises a school curriculum and also different programmes for extending our
life skills of recycle waste and alternative energy.
Through intergenerational learning, students (and kindergarten kids) can gain new knowledge and
understanding that enables them to build skills and behaviours and use their creativity.
Learning and working through experience in the world outside the classroom is very important.
This can make learning more engaging and relevant to young people and at the same time can
provide a bridge to higher order learning. During the project, students and kids reacted very
positively to being able to work collaboratively.
6. Location
Ministry of Energy and Industry in collaboration with commune of Terbuf and Directors of
elementary schools Cerma e Siperme, Cerme Proshk, Sulzotaj and Terbuf as part in
Alterenergy project , preparation the promotional and educational work for recycle waste as
alternative of renewable energy . After agreement with school headmasters, the project started
the implementation according the programe which prepered by Ministry of Energy and Industry.

8. Progress Work
At the meeting of elementary schools Cerme e Siperme in Terbuf Commne we decided about
activities that would be carried out in January 2015. We thought that the problem of wastes
management as alternative of energy (their collection, disposal and recycling) was nowadays very
important and also that it was very important that we introduce young people to these problems.
The final decision of our meeting in Cerme e Siperme was to develop different activities through a
common project: “The Odyssey at the time of recycle and alternative energy” where we have
communicated and stimulated the approach of the youngest generations towards renewable energies
and environmental sustainability issues. We have involved in this program the external partners,
such as environmental experts and energy expert, kids, teachers, etc.
During the meeting in Cerme Proshk, our group made a presentation of the Waste Management
and alternative of renewable energy. Actors and Colleagues from the National Agency of Natural
Resources gave us some important advice on how to prepare the first important steps, with aim to
raise awareness through campaigns for recycling and alternative energy.. The kids were aged 812 age. The main question for our kids was “how to explain the importance of recycling as
alternative of energy to small children” in a way that would be interesting, motivating and fun.
The meeting in Sulzotaj the actors explained to the small children the importance for nature for
produsing energy from composting and showed them how to compost. For the kids we used
different activities to present the need of recycling waste for energy and environment protection to
raise awareness of the need to influence the behaviour in order to the achievement of an important
goal, i.e. the ultimate goal of waste management and waste packages, plants, herbs, seeds, etc. for
produsinf the energy.
In Terbuf elementary school we explained to the kids how we can recycle waste for energy and
how much fun and important it can be. The children were very sociable and interested in our
activities. That wasn’t new for them because their teachers had worked with them and taught them
about recycling waste for energy before, but they surely learned some new things from us, such as
recycling signs, what can be recycled, etc. After that we organised a quiz for the children and gave
them books about recycling waste for energy as awards.
9.Best experience
Albania Partner (Ministry of Energy and Industry), we tracked progress of the students, kids,
teachers participating in the theatre study circle for three months and are pleased to note that
both Brunilda and Klodiana worked with them, not only to learn the text and to practice for the
show, but also much wider. In addition to the fundamentals, the two actors used the exercises
to present students, kids, teachers with the theatrical basics and its principles, how to develop
each character in the show, where and how to add an individual touch to the actor’s theatrical
character and how they should carry out dynamic performances on the stage. The entire
program was implemented to encourage students in their personal development, help them to
develop skills of clear speech and expression, public speaking, teamwork and exemplary
behaviour.
10. Result and outcomes
The combination of a permanent common task (students, kids, teachers) had a real impact on
everybody involved in the project. The students had skills to share with small kids. The actors and
energy specialist brought new energy, knowledge and perspectives into the schools. Common joy
can come from the depths of sharing knowledge and experiences. Students, kids, teachers often
have diffeent world-viewsr and ideas on how to explain or do something.
The students, kids, teachers extended their knowledge. They focused on the attention for the
important waste management for energy, problem. The students, kids, teachers learned to respond
to individual interests. They shared their experience with energy specialist National Agency of
Energy, learned from each other and established new friendships. They developed better selfexpression and more confidence in their work with the students, kids, teachers. They enjoyed new
experiences outside the school and seeing how the schools try to solve waste recycling issues as
alternative for energy.
Their teamwork skills were improved. Their organisational skills and their creativity developed in
the process of the project work. They developed new skills, more positive attitudes toward learning
and increased respect for others and their environment. One of the great challenges for all the
students, kids, teachers was the coordination of their free time to prepare workshop activities.
