Welcome to Mendeley Programme: Presentation of Mendeley Making an account Mendeley Desktop Mendeley Web Import of references Create a bibliography Exercises The Basics • Mendeley Desktop / Mendeley Web – download Mendeley desktop from www.mendeley.com • Save to Mendeley – Install Save to Mendeley to your favourites bar and add full-text from any website • Watched folders – imports pdf-files directly to Mendeley from a folder on your computer • Citation Styles – determines how the citations appear in the bibliography • Cite-O-Matic – installation for Word (or Open Office) to keep track of your references while writing Import There are different ways to import references • From literature databases like Web of Science, CAB Abstract, Scopus etc etc etc • From Journal publishers like Science Direct • From the app Browzine which has access to Copenhagen University electronic journals • With the RIS Format that allows you to export as many references as you want • ‘Drag and drop’ PDF-files directly into Mendeley • Watch folder – Choose a folder on your computer.
